I see the o-ring in the exploded view a few replies above but not in mine. The stem on mine seems to go through a bushing like element that is located at the hole in the lid. Could the o-ring be between the bushing and the washer on the outside of the lid?

Who knows? Full sun today. The first try = 20ppm, second try = 35ppm, third try = 20ppm. I have no idea whether my eyes (brain) were playing tricks on me or what but the second try results did actually occur.

The spider gasket seems more likely the problem. I didn't think water should be coming back in during the process of getting rid of water. It makes sense that something let go seeing that it started to happen after a few minutes of running in the waist setting .

Thanks. Just to add clarity, this was happening while in the waste setting. In other words, while water was being pumped out of the pool dirty water was coming out of the jets into the pool. If what you are saying could happen from previous use of the waste setting and not rinsing afterwards...
