    Bleach Prices 2015

We don't have chains that do it like that in our region that I know of. Atwoods had a very good sale last week, a 4 gallon case for $6.99. Not sure of price now, but I bet it is $10 or less. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

Re: Help with multiport valve and spider gasket

Re: Help with multiport valve and spider gasket It's pretty easy to take the cap off the muliport and inspect it. Make sure pump is unplugged and you remember how the cap was oriented before taking it off.

    High CYA, TA and CH

Your chlorine is far too low for that CYA level. I'd try to target 24ppm and not let it go below 20ppm in the pool and see how much that requires you to add each day to see if that will keep it clear and if it's cost effective. If it stays clear, you will at least be able to determine your...

    I need some help!

I wonder if more than just the pH can be wrong with FC that high. If it has been a long time since you tested ph when you knew FC was less than 10ppm, I would take a bucket of pool water to the side and test it a couple days after pool gets to shock level. Keep bucket in same sun as pool. Once...

New pool, gone for a week, where to start?

How much will 30ppm of CYA realistically lower pH? How long does it take for it to happen?

new sand filter: brown water staight into the pool!!!

Yes, you must backwash and rinse new sand. It is usually in the instructions for the filter.

    Pump motor running extremely loud

Sounds like a bearing. Did you replace pump seal when you replaced motor?

    Came home to Gatorade.

When you can vacuum the floor on filter mode without needing to backkwash, and you can go 24hr without needing to backwash, and you have a day to monitor the filter pressure, go ahead and backwash and then add DE per instructions.

Is it okay to swim if chlorine and TA are high?

Take the AquaCheck back to the pool store and get a refund. Tell them it's not working correctly. Don't let them sell you more junk. With refunded money, buy a recommended test kit: Pool School - Test Kits Compared - - - Updated - - - Your reason it's "not working correctly" is because it...

At my wits end - after 3 SLAMs

Christmas in July, and you got coal!
  22. D

    Came home to Gatorade.

I would recommend not vacuuming the entire floor to waste on a daily basis, maybe the center where it accumulates when you have jets set to a whirlpool spinning action if you see algae, but not the whole pool. You'll lose a lot of water just vacuuming the center. Yes, the waste you have is the...

The husband finally let me take over and I don't want to blow it!!

Normal pressure varies. Your pressure increasing after cleaning the skimmer and drain is expected. Pressure dropping due to air is ok but should be fixed, which it is. I cannot say if anything is stuck in your return but I do not suspect anything is.

Really confused about what to do, please HELP

Maintain shock level until pool is crystal clear. To speed up clarification, brush twice a day, vacuum once a day, and add DE to filter when you have a day you can monitor the pressure on the filter. The is a link to adding DE at the bottom of the SLAM article. After pool is clear and CC <=...

    Time, energy and money wasted

I like your skepticism, are you a programmer or analyst? The only reason people push the TF-50/100 kits is because it's a better value for clearing green pools. With your existing kit, I'd just get the XL Option, a spoon, and a CYA refill, I think that's needed, I really don't know! I was...

FNG with a bad algea problem - HELP!

If you decide to follow the TFPC method, you'll want to a cheap source of liquid chlorine or bleach. Type of Chlorine to use for SLAM

The husband finally let me take over and I don't want to blow it!!

Any cleaning between skimmers/drains and pump will increase pressure because it allows water to make into to the pump easier. Any cleaning between pump and return jets will decrease pressure because it allows water out of the pump faster. It sounds like, for whatever reason, your intake flow...

    LPS Facebook posts...just for fun!

I added a 5-star review to a nearby Leslie's on Google: "I love going to Leslie's, especially when there is a long wait. I get to listen to "seasonal sales associates" sell everything possible to inexperienced pool owners. It's a great time and I highly recommend people that have switched to...
