from what I have read is that the pink bacteria are surrounded by a biofilm. This product is supposed to destroy that film so your chlorine can do its job on the bacteria...all I know is that it was gone completely in a day and is just a weekly treatment...it does not give the ingredients.

Wow, how hostile your remarks. I have gone thru pool school in the last three years. I have switched to using liquid chlorine and followed directions. No luck with all recommendations, that's why I tried this product. And yes VOILA I had luck! And by the way I have always used my Taylor test...

Just wanted to post that I have been dealing with this for 3 years. Working with a chemist from a pool chemical company and spending tons of money nothing worked. I stumbled across a product called Aquafiness and have used it for one week and voila it's gone. YES!

Re: auto chlorinator vrs floatie Not sure what you mean but it sure has taken a huge burden off me...my pool builder says my pool is the cleanest most balanced pool in the state! My problems have decreased emencely since I added the floaties and took off the auto chlorinator.

I switched to floatie took my auto chlorination off my plumbing and have had no issues with chlorine..in fact it keeps a better reading...unless you run your pump 24/7 the auto chlorination is not a good choice..just my opinion after owning a pool for over 25 years...I bought these floatie a off...

Actually I just went out and looked and it is at 15 psi and no trouble...

I didn't know there were different size eyeball,will look into...when I had my pool built my builder always opened and did so at 18 psi...so that is always where I kept it...then when I changed the motor out as I said startup was at 10 psi. That was last year and I just dealt with it but noticed...

Thanks for your responses....this all started when I replaced my pump motor. For i have 10 years I always started my unit up at around 15-18 psi and never had that much force from the return water. I replaced with the recommended motor...thought it was the same motor ... I have a Whisperflo 1...
