    First SLAM — vacuum question

Excellent. No don’t have a manual but am pondering that. Will use the cartridges and clean them out after. Supposed to rain for the next couple days so planning my attack with that in the mix too

    First SLAM — vacuum question

I’ve got some persistent CC and didn’t pass the OCLT so here we go! Don’t see any green, no visible signs, but the OCLT tells me it’s there… I’ve read all the guidelines and feel comfortable enough with the process. I’ve had my eye on a wall whale and a corner brush so those are on the way...

Disrupt sun shelf return debris island?

Hey all, my sun shelf has a round return in the floor that causes a whirlpool on the surface that traps debris and pollen. Was thinking that if I could make the return flow asymmetrical it might disrupt the trap and let this stuff make it to the skimmer. Any ideas how or cautions against? As...

The more you know: Pool Cleaner Attack!

Hey all, just to share as unfortunately the camera wasn't recording at the time. I looked out the other day while Mr. Flowboto, our Polaris pressure side cleaner, was running. A big ripple was on the surface everywhere he went, and when I looked, I must not have gotten the bag on tight as it...

    3D Printed Revised TF-PRO insert

This is amazing work! I’m resisting getting a 3D printer because I can feel the rabbit hole pulling me downward and my wife killing me, but have done some modeling work in the past and just wanted to say awesome work and congrats on seeing a thing in your brain and making it a real thing in...

Squeak when 8 month old pump starts up

Recently when the pump is off and I start it up I hear this squeak. Pump is only 8 months old. Any ideas what it might be, how to fix or get it fixed?

What did you do to your pool today?

Took another confident step and pulled some stuff apart for the first time. Had a Jandy check valve that had some pine needles stuck in it so pulled that off and got it all cleaned up. Pulled the salt cell and looked for any scaling but didn’t see any so said some nice things to it and put it...

    Help!!

The above replies are from people much more experienced and knowledgeable than I, but I’ll add that I was you two summers ago. Had an above ground and was pool stored: testing with strips or their testing service and buying more and more chemicals and getting worse and worse results as I went...

    Hello from California!

Welcome and congrats and congrats! My advice (about 8 months in and really feeling in control on my pool) is to commit to this technique. Reading these forums and also from my own experience, the successful ones are who really buy in and don’t half-(way) it by being here but also pool store...

What did you do to your pool today?

Blew away all the pollen and made sure my levels were in the sweet spot. Heated the pool and spa. My daughter and her besties are all chattering and screaming and laughing and swimming and being teenage idiots. Taylor Swift is blaring. It’s a good day in the back yard.

Ahh I’m in dark mode so when I set my signature it looks white to me. Will fix.

Transition from LC back to SWG as spring temps rise?

Awesome strategies specifically around the SWG and temps. Thanks to all-a-y'all. Well shoot, now I do! The heater's been on the pad all the time, now it's in the sig as well... oopsie. Fascinating. So... while we're here on a new topic... Yep a gas heater. Read the article (thank you) --...

Transition from LC back to SWG as spring temps rise?

New pool this past july, and kept it "open" if not cold all summer (Atlanta, GA USA). Once the temps got low enough, I shut down the salt water generator and maintained successfully with LC all winter. Levels are good and ready for the spring and summer. Now that the water temp is rising...

What did you do to your pool today?

I really want to add some speakers and hook it into the automation so when his cycle stops it plays the song to thank him (domo arigato mr flowboto)

What did you do to your pool today?

Checked my FC to keep track and the salt after adding a bunch to get ready for the season. Swapped out Mr. Flowboto’s bag as it was full of pine needles. Admired my TFP-clear, 50 degree pool water and then took a really warm shower after jumping in with my daughter for a couple of early season...

Prep and advice for the Great Pollening 2025?

Hahaha the wind is the enemy. I always pray for monsoons hoping it will “knock the pollen out of the trees” but usually it just ends up being yellow rain (and rivulets running down my driveway. I live, at least for this season, jealous of your safety cover.

Prep and advice for the Great Pollening 2025?

Didn’t specifically know that about the Main drains but also great to know. Higher rpm mixing makes sense too! I’m also prepping for screened in porch defense. Too much screen to cover so I set up fans in the door to outside and put the pollen up in the air with a leaf blower (and goggles and...

Prep and advice for the Great Pollening 2025?

Hi all I’ve seen some references across posts but wanted to charge my plans for critique and suggestion as this is my first time. The other day I saw the first yellow wisps of the Great Pollening 2025 in Atlanta. If you know you know. My plan is: Skimmer socks (rinsed daily or more once it...

How to reset fauts on a Jamdy JXiQ heater

I totally forgot I’d covered the equipment with a tarp and tried to heat up my spa. I guess it wasn’t getting enough oxygen and is now giving me a fault of “too many flameouts”. The service required button is blinking and I can’t seem to get it to restart. Does anyone know how I would reset it?
