What would you do differently, if you could?

as long as all suction and return lines have a valve you will have great control of everything, I would have liked a suction line for my vacuum instead of using the skimmer

SWG and a timer would be a must if you will be away from your pool frequently, I can leave for a few days and not worry about my pool turning green

    SWG operationg cost?

Factor in my time @$$ pr hr. and the SWG WINS BIG TIME!! never tried the bleach way and maybe I'm now biased, we live 10 miles from town so just getting the stuff home would cost me time and fuel. I can spend more time poolside

    Replacing Pipes...What Should I Use?

I used white flexible PVC, most problems will be with any joints under ground ( elbows on the black pipe are weak! )so you should be able to eliminate all joints except were they terminate. Also I would lay down a layer of sand before the pipe is installed and bury with sand after pressure test...

Pool Build - Atlantic County, NJ

Looks like a beautiful pool and setting, I agree with previous posts "A variable speed pump such as the IntelliFlo or IntelliPro 4X160 will offer the lowest operating cost but have the highest up front cost. Next would be a two speed pump as suggested before. The worst is a single speed pump."...

When do those who live in the northeast open their pools?

WOW Chrisa, that must be a great heat pump, I have been disappointed with ours, it returns the water to the pool about 3 or 4 degrees warmer, is yours better than this or is this normal?? it takes a very long time to get a noticeable change in temp. I am thinking about adding solar in hopes of...

This is my first year to open our new pool and I pulled the safety cover of last weekend and fired up the pump the creepy crawly has run about 12 hours and the pool is looking good!
