Trying to find a solution for a bomgie pool pump plumbing from intex sand filter to pump

Yepp, I did something a little different and a lot easier imo. Bought two of these: Used the Intex collars that came with the hose that comes with the Intex SWG. Sanded them 320 and then 2000 grit. Then put it on the machine and used PVC coupling. Ez

    Harley's Pool

Sounds good lol don't want to be caught without one. Tested the FC today and it's at 7. So went ahead and turned the swg on for 6 hours. I overshot CYA because it's been at 80-90 depending on the day I test lol. But it works out for the swg

    Harley's Pool

Hmm maybe because there's still pollen I'm not fully seeing. But my water is very clear so can't complain. Guess I'll keep switching them out

    Harley's Pool

I was able to pick up a hose and vac head at Lowe's. Found a video on YouTube and figured it out. Gotta say yeah that would be annoying to do often and for an extra 20 bucks I could've gotten one of the ones you sent lol I'll have to check them out more if the debris is heavy this season. I do...

    Harley's Pool

Lol waters too cold for me to get in there and use that haha. But for a manual vac head, with it being a vinyl liner, is there a specific one to get?

I like those, but does my pool warrant that vs just a manual hose? Like for reference this is the debris I have after being almost open for a year.

Do you have a link to the Intex auto cleaner? I'm thinking of grabbing a hose and vac head as the main option since it's barely any debris.

    Harley's Pool

I should have time tonight to do the test. Water is very clear now like it used to be lol. I have some debris on the bottom. Like fine dirt from getting in out of the pool. The only stuff that ends up in the pool is that or bugs. Should I get an electric vacuum or just grab one of the ones...

    Harley's Pool

Soo gonna run a OCLT tonight. Like water is clear, but want to pass it to move on lol. RIght now chlorine is at 15ppm. With swg running 8 hours a day. Should I just turn the swg off until I bring FC to 5-7ppm? I was gonna raise cya once I was moving that direction.

    Harley's Pool

Oof yeah, I'm glad I did it. I think flow is better too even on the low speed. Now I just need to finish the landscaping around the pool!

    Harley's Pool

Is the only way to make the run time to a specific time of day by starting it at that exact time? Like if I want to run it starting at 11am, I just have to start it at 11am that day?

    Harley's Pool

Oh okay that makes sense. Yeah I went off the salt table in the manual for an 18x48 so might've overshot a little. I'm using the drop test that I got from TF Testkits in the salt bundle. I also picked up some more CYA so I can get up to 70/80. I'll test today when I get home from work and see...

    Harley's Pool

Added salt to the pool. Did a salt test tonight and it was 3400ppm. Going to turn on the swg tomorrow... But very lost on how long to run it. I run my pump at 24/7 on low speed, and I've looked around the forums/blog and some run it 24/7 also, but idk if it's possible with the swg I have.

    Harley's Pool

Luckily had the time to do this today. A little messy, but I can clean that up at a later date. I think I'm gonna order two more of the high temp unions and get rid the flexible PVC between the pump and the filter since I have left over PVC.

    Harley's Pool

I plan to leave the pool "open" through winter. Only hesitation is pollen season. But I still like the idea of unions for repairs, etc. I'm going to install everything Friday hopefully. Ordered most of the stuff from Amazon. Need to pick up the ball valves, PVC pipe, and another box adapter...

Ahh gotcha. I was planning on keeping the flexible hose that came with the pump/filter. Flexible PVC hose.

I believe it's 1.5". The PVC adapters I bought for and are 1.5". Then I have these that I'm currently using to connect my old bestway pool hoses. https://a.co/d/9S8gUo8

Do you have an example listing from a pool store? Or Amazon? Might have to order because all I have is Leslie's and might not have in stock.

    Harley's Pool

Ahh that makes sense! So high temp for my pump and normal union on my filter? Is this something Lowe's would have or home depot? So the union attaches to the outside of the threads vs using the male adapter?
