Opening Inground Pool - CYA Level Low

Just read your reply but had already completed similar steps. I was just curious if the CYA settles out or stays homogeneous. I'm very surprised if it is this low as I do not drain my pool at all before winterizing, but I do have to pump quite a bit out when starting up. I've never had it...

Opening Inground Pool - CYA Level Low

I am opening my pool today, *YAY!*, and tested CYA at <10. CYA was in range when closed. Does the CYA stay fairly homogeneous or do I need to circulate for a while prior to testing? Basically...start adding CYA or let circulate and retest tomorrow?

    Automated pH

I do not have issues with TA but as you stated my SWG has me adding acid 1-2 times per week. What brands are available? And recommended?

    Automated pH

For a residential pool is it worth using a Solaxx pHTek or other system to automatically control your pH? I deal with pH probes at work and we are calibrating monthly and replacing at least annually. I like the easiness and automation but is it worth the $500. Opinions?

    Saltwater Solar Blanket Deterioration

When we purchased our Swimming Pool two years ago the installer surprisingly had included a solar blanket in the package. We use it religiously in the early spring, fall, and cooler summer nights. It is used in correlation with our Solar Heat Panels & Heat Pump. The blanket is removed and...

Hayward Leaf Canister w530 filling with air

I have The Poolcleaner 4X and can barely get the hoses together because the seal is TIGHT. You could use PVC cement but they would be permanently stuck together. Silicone would be good too but would also provide a semi-permanent seal. You could get them apart but wouldn't want to do this...

    Check Valve Help!

You can install in a vertical position. The pressure will be no different within the piping system. It may seem tight but will be ok. I have two in my system. It takes very little flow to open one up. Distance from chlorinator doesn't matter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Check Valve Help!

I would recommend a Spring Check Valve. This does not rely on gravity and can be mounted in any position. Many of the swing or "flapper" type check valves are rated for gravity flow and are not designed for a pressure piping system such as a pool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Dosatron

Has anyone used a DOSATRON to inject their bleach? http://www.dosatronusa.com/products/product-catalogue/D25RE09-11-GPM.aspx I use them at work on several applications to apply certain chemicals to water prior to adding to a tank. You would install it inline and the pumped water powers the...

I am curious what others are using for their % output on their AquaRite SWG. I have my SWG set at 65% and am slowly dropping the % as my FC is still rising. Current levels: FC=10.5 pH=7.6 TA=110 CH=40 CYA=70

    Testing Old Bleach

Is there a trick to testing a few old jugs of bleach that were sitting on the shelf for a few years? I have a few jugs with low odor and I think they have significantly degraded. Not really concerned but just curious..... If not I'll dump 'em in and deal with it. Sent from my iPhone using...

How do i remove fitting on filter?

I agree with Richard. Measure the OUtside Diameter of the black manifold and see if you can install a larger pipe coupling on it. It looks glued. The manifold body would be much larger if it was a female thread. If you truly think it is threaded get a strap wrench or pipe wrench to hold the...

Salt level reading Taylor Kit vs Generator Reading

I too have an AquaRite that is reading 3,200 ppm and Taylor K-1766 is reading 2,600 ppm. Seems to be no issue as you have stated so I will leave it alone.
