Is this dip in the contour normal? It is really hard to capture by camera. It’s more pronounced in real life. It’s a steep drop on the right half of that sediment and more gentle drop on the left half.

Thank you for your response. Seems that there is a lot of geographic variability in practice regarding sand vs gravel base. Concrete guy ended up graining down coping to flatten it to we could do a proper expansion joint. Used the foam kind of above.

What kind of maintenance is needed?

Definitely going to say it’s just another landscape rock. The issue is that real boulders are heavy and a pain to move. I was hoping i could get a realistic fake rock that would be a bit lighter and easier to place.

We are looking for a fake rock to be used as a jump rock. 1-2’ high and heavy enough that it will stay in place- but not so heavy that it can’t be moved or need to have concrete deck reenforced. I’ve heard of Rico rock, but they don’t seem to list prices or allow you to buy online. Anyone know...

Our build will start in the next couple weeks. We were interested in a jump rock but the started look at other pools and we're wondering if that would be possible with the autocover assembly.
