SR smith typhoon owners: is this normal?

There is a video of the slide at the link above. It’s that near the bottom aspect of the top section of the actual slide part. It is very hard to capture. And hard for me to tell from pics and videos of others online have the same thing. I sent the pic and video to sr smith… but I’m still...

SR smith typhoon owners: is this normal?

Yes brand new. I installed. Our PB doesn’t do slides usually. He said we could save a lot if we purchased ourselves. Looks like I’ll be calling SR smith.

SR smith typhoon owners: is this normal?

Is this dip in the contour normal? It is really hard to capture by camera. It’s more pronounced in real life. It’s a steep drop on the right half of that sediment and more gentle drop on the left half.

SR Smith slide installation asssembly tips

I put the slide together today. Have not mounted it to concrete yet. Just a tip for anyone who comes across this in the future: a coulple of the holes between slide pieces do not line up when you put together. It helps to do bolts in order directions say, of course. But also- initially don’t...

SR Smith slide installation asssembly tips

Hmm really ? So the slide base is attached to concrete first? Then bottom of slide is attached to that? The manual didn’t mention or say to do it that way. I’ll double check. Good tip on not over tightening. I have ruined so much stuff in my life by over tightening- or made it a pain to...

Concrete deck questions… any concrete gurus?

It was 2-3”. Typo. Ended up being sand and mesh rebar. Bonded. They compacted all the sand with a mechanical compactor. There is a ton of crushed stone all along the fiberglass pool. A few feet at least. A lot of sand was brought for the rest. As the deck was enacted 18”, as our backyard...

SR Smith slide installation asssembly tips

I am about to install their typhoon slide myself in the next week or so. I watched their install video and read the manual. Any tips and tricks from people who have done this? On another video, someone had a tip on how you should just install the mounting concrete anchors and locking washer...

Concrete deck questions… any concrete gurus?

Thank you for your response. Seems that there is a lot of geographic variability in practice regarding sand vs gravel base. Concrete guy ended up graining down coping to flatten it to we could do a proper expansion joint. Used the foam kind of above.

Concrete deck questions… any concrete gurus?

We are having a concrete pool deck poured. Located in Michigan. There is an 18” stacked paver wall around 2 sides. 4-5’ around the fiberglass pool is mostly rock for drainage. Otherwise the 4 sides of pool will have 14’, 8’, 10’, and 8’ of concrete. 2 issues. Issue 1: A neighbor (who has...

Fake rock - jump rock. Recommendations?

Definitely going to say it’s just another landscape rock. The issue is that real boulders are heavy and a pain to move. I was hoping i could get a realistic fake rock that would be a bit lighter and easier to place.

Fake rock - jump rock. Recommendations?

We are looking for a fake rock to be used as a jump rock. 1-2’ high and heavy enough that it will stay in place- but not so heavy that it can’t be moved or need to have concrete deck reenforced. I’ve heard of Rico rock, but they don’t seem to list prices or allow you to buy online. Anyone know...

Is a jump rock possible with an autocover?

Our build will start in the next couple weeks. We were interested in a jump rock but the started look at other pools and we're wondering if that would be possible with the autocover assembly.

Anyone have a step up between patio and pool deck? Help with transition between concrete pool deck and patio pavers.

It's a walkour basement with patio and yard that slopes away from house. There is about 2.5-3' over 50'. I guess my main question is if we have one step between the patio/fireplace to the abutting pool deck, would that look nice? Don't see many poolwnwith a step up. Worriedbitd be a tripping...

Anyone have a step up between patio and pool deck? Help with transition between concrete pool deck and patio pavers.

Yeah, personally I don't want to go that high. PB said he would do whatever we want. I think his point with 18" is he personally thought it would be nice to have a wall that could function as a seat around firepit. I get that could look nice, butnat what cost ? We are having it quoted out...
