Here we go!! DIY IG started SE Ohio

What did you use for the jets shooting into the pool? Like the way the look just didn't want to pay what my PB wanted to charge for them. I have 3 flower beds around the pool apron and am thinking of making my own jets/stream to shoot into the pool.

    Pool Financing

I went to a smaller bank here and did an unsecured 3yr loan for our pool. The payment is higher than a refinance or HELOC but we have it completely paid for in 3 years or less and the total interest paid for the loan is $2,000 or less.

Re: New build in MS *new pictures 3/31*** Work has been slow lately while waiting for electrician to finish up and concrete to cure. Will say I am very impressed that my PB moved my daughters huge playset for us and even leveled and made sure it was set right in the ground with his crew of...

Re: New build in MS *new pictures 3/28*** Took off while they wre finishing the concrete pour and headed to New Orleans for a long weekend with the family at the Zoo and Aquarium. Had a blast and came back to see the finished concrete, fence put back up, yard graded and slide line plumbed...

Re: New build in MS *new pictures 3/27*** They are pouring the concrete now and so far it looks good. They are lifting it and supporting the rebar as they pour the concrete from bucket. Got the slide test fit and water line location marked this morning: Familiar site to me and my...

Re: New build in MS *new pictures 3/27*** Thanks! if you look on page one towards the bottom there are a couple of pictures where you can see the mesh before the stone. We are very happy with the pool and the PB so far. Called the PB at 6 last night to ask about changing slides and...

Re: New build in MS *new pictures 3/27*** I watched part of it. The wire mesh is screwed or nailed, i forget which, to the metal flanges that held the liner in place. They then put mortar on that and then the stone into the mortar. Make sense? I know they waste or can't use a ton of stone...

Re: New build in MS *new pictures 3/27*** Not much happening the past two days that are picture worthy. Got the water looking a lot better until I wasn't paying attention and busted their temp drain line and they had to stop vacuuming the pool! OOPS, just add it to my bill. We got the deck...

New St. Louis Pool * water August 1st!

Re: New St. Louis Pool Not sure if it helps but in central MS we were told to expect upwards of $1000 a month in gas charges for a heater, never looked at electric ones though. Our PB did say he sells more chillers than heaters though

Fiberglass pool under construction near San Antonio TX

Perfect fit! Looks good in the yard. In the same situation as you with my builder, have been very happy and even called him at 6 last night because I changed my mind on the decking and within 20 minutes he was at my house with a can of spray paint to make changes.

Re: New build in MS *new pictures 3/25*** That would require a piece of stone almost 6ft x 6ft to make one piece out of. And then the very next piece curves in towards the stairs. So you're saying I would need a piece bigger than 8ft by 8ft so it would fit over the stairs to make the curve...

Re: New build in MS *new pictures 3/25*** The electric and the plumbing are not complete. Plumbing has to be cut and refitted for the salt system still. The power isn't turned on yet and still needs to have two outlets installed, both timers wired, all trenches re-covered and finished. On...

Update on DIY build in TN (More Pics/Questions)

I like the concrete floor and the look but would be scared about ever having to get to one of those pipes in case they broke/leaked. My PB told me a horror story about a 90 degree elbow destroying itself within two days, nobodies fault just a defective part, and they had to dig up the deck and...

Re: New build in MS *new pictures 3/25*** Rain has been back most of the weekend but the electricians were busy today. The stone is finished until the fire pit goes in. Will hopefully fire the pumps up tomorrow and start getting the water looking a bit better. The electric components...

Re: New build in MS *new pictures 3/22*** Things have been kind of slow with rain and the builder being very cautious to make sure they didn't have any more leaks. We got all the returns, skimmers and lights cut in and they had to re-grade the yard and I was very impressed with how they...

New St. Louis Pool * water August 1st!

Re: New St. Louis Pool Like the design! Our PB wanted $350 a light to upgrade but said he personally didn't think they were worth the money and if I changed my mind in the future that i could simply swap bulbs as the system they're putting in is the same as the LED just with a different bulb.

Re: New build in MS *new pictures 3/18*** Well things took a turn in the wrong direction over the weekend. I noticed water seeping in around the pool Friday afternoon especially after cutting in the stairs and the builder kept saying it was normal. Well we lost over an inch of water during...

Re: New build in MS *new pictures 3/16*** They aren't acting as a sump at all as they're set in concrete at the bottom of the pipe. There will be a 2'x4" deck drain along the patio and house that discharges on the side of the property to keep water away from the pool and patio. The grading...

Re: New build in MS We chose wood because we liked the builder the best out of all the ones we talked to. They've used steel in the past and didn't have good results with it in our area and would have used plastic but the wood was cheaper and had a better warranty. The walls and pool kit...
