Water behind liner on ground pool

It's 4' deep. I don't need to dig a hole to know that the area around pool is waterlogged. So far the immediate surrounding of pool has been wet even without any rain. How do I siphon out the water?

Water behind liner on ground pool

I have a sunken on ground pool that has metal walls, sand bottom and liner. There is no drain at bottom. The soil is clay and there is alot of groundwater around pool. There has been barely any rain last couple weeks but there is alot of water under the liner, the edges are floating and vacuum...

Replacing lines help! flexible pvc fittings/ glue

I have a sunken on ground pool that was installed last year. There are 2 jets just below ground level (soil around pool, not concrete). Over the winter I plugged the jets and filled with anti-freeze, but one plug wasn’t threaded properly. Pool guy confirmed with pressure test that there is a...

First time opening pool/ winter cover question

I don't think this type of winter cover would be suitable to turn pump on without taking the cover off first. I'm not sure there would be much circulation with a vinyl cover over the skimmer. That might work if I didn't have so much water on top of the cover though. I ended up taking the cover...

First time opening pool/ winter cover question

Most coworkers have pools and always open May 24 weekend. I know each pool is different, but my parents never opened their pool before May 24 and in the 15 years also never had algae. I stopped in the pool place today and they said I could mix the water and add some shock until i'm ready to...

    test kit for Canadians?

Looks like the TF-100 can't be shipped to Canada. Is there a way around this? If not, can someone recommend a kit that can be shipped to Canada. I read the K-2006 is comparable, but it's $144. Right now I just have the cheapo kit with chlorine and ph drops.

First time opening pool/ winter cover question

The pump and filter are stored in the garage. I meant I don't have the kind of pump to remove water from ontop of cover. I've been reading on here to open before algae can grow, but i'm in Ontario Canada where pretty much opens the May 24 weekend. Would you suggest opening sooner? Or should I...

First time opening pool/ winter cover question

Thanks I read through all that and understand better. It's a little overwhelming but i'll keep reading these forums. I think i'll unhook the cover and use water on top, but i'll wait until i'm ready to shock the water (when it's warmer). I know some people use mesh covers so they're water isn't...

First time opening pool/ winter cover question

I'm not sure what bringing "FC up to SLAM" level means. I have a bag of "super shock" powder (I don't even know what chemical it is), and then I assume I will need to add a couple of jugs of chlorine. Then I will use the chlorine pucks in the chlorinator to maintain. I'm thinking I should...

First time opening pool/ winter cover question

Hard to tell in the pics but it's 3' in the middle, it slopes down so the edges are less. In my area, May 24 weekend is usually when pools are opened, so I wasn't planning on opening before that. Does this water seem ok to use? - - - Updated - - - Hard to tell in the pics but it's 3' in...

First time opening pool/ winter cover question

This will be my first time opening pool, it was installed last winter. I'm in Ontario, so I drained water down 18"(I think that's what it was), and filled the lines with the anti-freeze. We had alot of snow this year but i'm really surprised how much water is on top of the winter cover. It’s...

Lansdcaping a pool without a pool deck.

It slopes a little so one end is 6" the other is 12". Right now i just have a small wood landing to step into the pool, the rest has river rock around it. I'm trying to avoid putting a deck all the way around, and instead just do a small "deck at one end, and then gardens/ mulch/ river rock...

Lansdcaping a pool without a pool deck.

Forgot to mention that I can't use concrete (told by pool installer). So I don't know what else to do. I don't think the wind can carry mulch into pool, but probably would get stuck to bottom of feet. But if I put enough plants then people won't be able to walk on that side.

Lansdcaping a pool without a pool deck.

I have an onground pool, so sticks up 6-12" out of ground. Trying to avoid putting deck around. Right now i just have large river rocks but they are a pain to walk on. Would mulch be a bad idea? Anyone have any pics of pools with garden right up to the edge (no deck)? I know i'll need to walk...

Ideas for landscape/ decking/ patio area - with pictures

I had a sunken above ground pool installed and I’m looking for ideas. It is about 6” out of ground side closest to house, and 12” at far end of pool. PB told me not to put concrete up to it, so looking for an alternative. Either deck or patio stones. PB encouraged river rock for someone like me...

Wood planter around pool/section of metal fence? Fence ideas

Re: Wood planter around pool/section of metal fence? Fence i We would have a small patio area inside the fence, so we would be able to see them from there. Also the end that faces our patio i would do a fence that you can see through, which can also be seen from the house. All along the side is...

Ideas around oval pool sunken in ground

That looks great. Ours will be a little deeper so I think the mulch would end up floating in the pool. Also i'm putting a fence around it, and didn't want grass inside the fence area. But i'll need to be able to walk around the pool so can't have just gardens..

Wood planter around pool/section of metal fence? Fence ideas

Re: Wood planter around pool/section of metal fence? Fence i Also, the fence might be somewhat temporary. I might get rid of it when the kids are grown up.

Wood planter around pool/section of metal fence? Fence ideas

I'm having a sunken above ground pool installed next week. I'm on a very tight budget but i'd like to have a fence around the pool to prevent kids from getting in. It doesn't necessarily have to be 4' high, so i'm looking for some ideas. I like the black aluminum fencing but does not fit in my...

Ideas around oval pool sunken in ground

What did you use inbetween the limestone? I'm looking for something to put around patio stones that will stay in place (ie mulch would end up in the pool). Is whatever you used good for cold winters? I'm in Southwestern Ontario.

Help me decide pool location/ layout

Thanks, it's mostly the space between pool and patio that i wasn't sure of. Seems to be a good place for the firepit though. I can't move pool any closer to side property line (shown 5' away). And there is a drainage easement along the back property line so I can't move pool shed any closer to...

Help me decide pool location/ layout

I'm putting in an oval 15 x 30 "on-ground" pool that will be sunk in the ground. Having trouble deciding on where exactly to put it... My lot is very narrow, and there won't be a lot of privacy (new subdivision). Currently there is nothing except a floating wood deck (I might remove it and add a...

Wood above ground or Sunken On ground

I only compared AG vs the Rockwood. I'm not sure that it's even considered an Onground. The company also sells onground pools but they are a little more expensive. The inground were out of our price range. 15 x 30 is 12,699 + 500 to have 54" walls (instead of 48") + 1200 to sink all the way...

Ideas around oval pool sunken in ground

Looks great, but probably more than I can spend. I think it's between river rock with a path of patio stones vs a wood walkway surrounded by gardens.
