I have an issue I haven't found a good debug path for.
Polaris wheel revolution speed is good, screen is clear and backup is working.
I see it get stuck on walls it would normally climb.
When I pull it out of the pool (running) and apply a small amount of resistance to any wheel it has no...
I have a VCV Push Pull 7.5ABS valve.
I looked at it this morning and the plastic seating ring snapped off. I assume for some reason pressure built up inside or the push pull failed in such a way to basically push the valve completely up. It was pulled out all the way when I found it.
Pics in...
I wonder if its the freeze? I have a freeze guard and it is functioning. I heard water rushing tonight all of a sudden and went out and my push pull valve was up and my pool was back washing itself!
How does this happen? It's back in place now but I worry I'll lose a ton of water if it...
I have a AqualinkRS that was installed by prior owner. The handheld system has given out and since they are 250-300 to replace it's probably worth converting to the wifi system.
They list two variants that depend on the firmware version to purchase the correct one. All I have are photos of it...

Stupid me I picked up 6 bottles of Home Depot's X brand bleach. Or I thought I did. Turns out one of them was the "bleach cleaner" and the bottles were so similar I didn't notice it when I bought it or grabbed it from my chem locker either. :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

I've been noticing something this year. When I have the ph down closer to the target of 7.5 the water dries my skin more. If I let ph slowly rise to 7.8 ish the water has a better feel both in and out of the water once the skin dries. I have a virtually constant FC level that I micro treat...
I understand that. I was just thinking this morning about how it is even possible to do a texas pool in july/aug on a weekly chemical add.
I imagine many chem services here do a puckinator type system + dumps. Otherwise it's useless.
Lets just say you pay for a weekly service. I assume they come out and first balance the ph. But in Texas FC loss at this point is so high due to water temp and sun exposure do they just bring the pool up to shock level every week and let it go?
I assume they periodically monitor for stuff...
In the summer the pools I've seen can get green algae in the corners/steps if the pump isn't running enough and the FC level drops corresponding with a huge rainfall. Did you recently get a big rain?
Re: Moss growing on some rock work, deal with it, or leave i
and please excuse the leaves. Wind was blowing 35-40 all night. I'm not even sure from which city block those holly branches came from!
Re: Moss growing on some rock work, deal with it, or leave i
I don't have the water running right now so you can see it better dry. You can see how on both sides right at the water drop edge there is the green mossy stuff growing.
Rained again this morning.
I am finding this to be true. The WalMart Store Brand IMO is now my go-to because it does not seem to have this effect as some of the ones I have tested recently.
YMMV I am not an expert at all, please do your own research etc. etc.
Hi, I have some green moss growing on some rock work around my pool. There are also some other fungii growing on the backside of the rocks and some of the higher areas. These rocks do not get rinsed with pool water and we have had unusual, but not extremely high levels of rain so far this CY...
I've been doing some research and also discussed some things with the pool vendor that previously serviced this pool and the SWG.
From our conversation his comments were:
-With the water effects this pool was heck to keep in PH with the SWG running. It was also eating the rock work.
-He...
Hi, I'm soon to restart SWG at my pool. I have a pool spa combo with an automated jandy system. I was wondering something though if I'm in the spa mode and only the return is powering the spa return am I getting a mega dose of CL?
Is the Jandy going to shut down SWG while in the Spa? Is this...
would the 9 keep things better controlled when it gets hot in Texas, or is the size not related to the ability to keep up with CL demand?
Amazon has the 9 for 429
PSW has it for 348

Is there something I am missing?
why is calcium a big deal? I thought Cal-Hypo was sort of on the approved list here.
I've never used it, just curious to see some people say to pass it if they have the chance.
Just to follow up from above I checked TA and was a hair under 80 now which is expected given my rainfall and other factors. CYA still was in the 30-50 range.
CYA is fine. I'm at about 50. I had to add some CYA directly from a jug to get it up from 30 about a month back. The pool store guy was pretty shocked. They don't get many requests for CYA in a bottle perhaps.
TA is a tad higher than I have been wanting it lately at about 110. City water...
My pool was built with SWG. When I bought the house they had pulled out the SWG electrode and were on chems. I've been BBB for most of the last year and I'm already seeing the cost of bleach is getting to the point where converting to SWG even at 2x the cost of bleach might make some...
