Good evening all!
I keep getting diatamaceous earth in the pool. The grids look fine but the flex tubes are questionable. I am attaching some photos of the tubes and have no idea why they look this bad. Once a season I hose them down (perhaps too much pressure), soak them in TFP and then...
hey guys. I have one anchor stuck and broken. I tried the brass anchor removal kit but when tightening down the new threeads got stripped. Should I just go one size larger with the tap and try again?
I am converting to Salt Water this weekend and many noted that the ladder Anchors will become an issue. I have regular metal anchors in stamped concrete. Replacing will be challenging. Is here some sort of mainnance that can save them?
Sorrry. Just saw this now. I gave up. It held unitl this week and let go again. When I went to tighten the float assembly broke. SWG Delivered today. Thanks anyway!
I seem to have an ongoing problem with the "in" hose to my liquidator slipping off. I kept forcing it on and screwing down hard to no avail. Any little touch seemd to knock it off. I use pipe dope to prevent air bubbles. Hoping the hose stretched, I cut 1/2 an inch of the line off and forced...
Thanks guys. If this is normal then no worries. I just recall the green being darker and thought something was wrong.
This site taught me so much that I get nervous when something seems different.
Thank you. I did try an additional drop of the R-0008 just to see and it did not change the color. I wasn't really expecting good results by doing this because I assumed it would skew the results, i.e. how many drops of R-0009 would be required. Based on your response, it sounds like this...
Good morning.
Per my recent test, my alkalinity is at 130 ppm and I am in the process of bringing it down to 110 with muriatic acid and aeration but I have a question about my testing. I have a brand new TF-100 Test kit that is stored properly (inside house). When I performed the test I...
Just to put some closure on this thread.
I had a pool guy come by and give me an estimate $100 - $125 to fix. With that price I figured I would let him do it and take the advice on ealier posts to wait and see. The morning the pool guy was coming, the liner went back exactly with no extra...
I woke this morning to see the water level down about an inch. This tells me one of three things (I'm sure you may think of more).
1- I do have a leak and that is why the water is behind the liner or
2- The water behind the liner is resceding and making my pool water look low or
3- I drank too...
Hey guys! I woke up this morning to see my pool liner floating thanks to Hurrican Irene. :grrrr: Pictures attached.
I'm not 100% sure why, but am almost certain it has to do with the water table. I had well over 14 inches of rain in 24 hours. I do not see any large tears nor do I see any...
Wow you're quick and thanks as usual!
Do you or anyone else know if the liquidator can be installed differently? It think the trade off is worth it either way, but I believe I would feel better if I was to install the liquidator after the heater.
Split off of this topic. JasonLion
Thanks for the pix Bama! We know you were just too busy helping us to cut those attractive tails!
I was getting ready to pull the trigger on the liquidator, read the install instructions, and found it weird that it should be installed before the...
Sorry to hear the new posts but I just wanted to put some closure on my experience.
As I waited for the patch kit, I decided to cut a small round patch out of some left over liner I had laying around. I then laid this patch over the hole to size it up and left it there. Believe it or not it...
Thanks waste!
I noticed the bubble before the leak but only shortly before (maybe a week). Perhaps I already had the leak and the gazebo made it worse.
The bubble is very soft. Feels lik air. My thought is the water behind the liner is pushing up air to this area that is trapped. I also...
Thanks Bama! Still waiting for the glue.
Two follow questions:
1-Am I doing harm waiting for this glue or should I run to the pool store to get it? Obviously the cost of water is starting to concern me.
2-Does this explain why the liner appears to have a large bubble behind it, primarily...
As usual, thank god for this site! Didn't think this was a do it yourselfer but I know feel empowered to do so.
Thanks to a wind storm last weekend, my gazebo decided to take a swim with me and the kids last weekend. Fortunately no one was hurt! I initially did not notice any damage to the...
Thanks all for the removal piece. I haven't received much advice on the install side. What product(s) does everyone recommend (if any) to secure the anchor?
This maybe a stupid question or I'm to stubborn to take the easy way out but doesn't the anchor need to be locked in somehow, i.e. concrete, epoxy, chaulk, chewing gum?
Thank god for the search function.
I have a couple of "Spinners" as well and one that came out from our last snowfall. Menitoned above was an epoxy fill. Seems like the right fix. Does anyone recommend a specific product for this? A different fix?
Yes, however it is should be traceable to other reasons. I have had perfect levels, left my solar cover on for 2-3 days and got algae. Solar covers do not allow pools to oxidate correctly.
