Thanks both, glad to hear on potency. I tested 24 hours after and again a week later, both with the same result. I recognize it is somewhat subjective of a reading, so will hit it again and see what it brings next week.

I wonder if you aren't getting enough suction, as mine stays pinned to the bottom once I get it going. I do have my return jet pointed upward but it doesn't seem to interfere at all. Did you do the suction test that came with the unit when you did your install?

Second summer with the AG pool, and I'm bringing my CYA back up after winter re-filling. I'm following the recommended additions in Pool Math to increase my levels by 20, and my result is only an increase of 10. Does CYA lose its potency over time?

I use the Hayward AGP penguin (also have whale, ladybug), second season with it in my 24' round and it seems to work well. I purchased the optional leaf/debris collector as I get a lot of leaves and didn't want to starve my pump.

Thanks, I was thinking of silicone on both sides once it is dry. The hose was sealed in place at time of install so I can’t easily remove it, but I figured with a roughly 4’ drop it would take a lot of seepage to fill it up, if the bag covering the top tore and leaked for example.
