Leaving for a week (no one to check pool) should I put chlorinator on?

it's not a variable speed pump so I would prefer not to leave it running that long.

Leaving for a week (no one to check pool) should I put chlorinator on?

So, would it be better to get my CL to 10 or 15 and just hope its enough to last 7 days or just run the chlorinator?

Leaving for a week (no one to check pool) should I put chlorinator on?

It was installed by the pool CO that opened my pool last year. I just checked and it’s installed as an (offline chlorinator) but I don't see a check valve.

Leaving for a week (no one to check pool) should I put chlorinator on?

I use liquid chlorine in my pool. I also have an off line chlorinator that I don't use. The 20x40 (35K gallon) pool is covered by a blue bubble tarp at night and most of the time when not in use (we have a reel for it so it's easy). I have kept my CYA low (30) as I know I have 2 vacations...

    Increasing PH with aeration

My PH is 7.2 and Alkalinity 110. I am trying to increase the PH with aeration. I tried several return fittings from Amazon that help with aeration but none fit correctly so I returned them. I have a 1/2 HP sump pump, I put it on one of the steps and put it on, it’s pushing the water up...

    Pressure side leak (PVC) repair…

Hi, I edited to put PVC. Anyways, while attempting to unscrew the union, I noticed that is has a big crack and that’s most likely the culprit. There was no o-ring inside. Looks like this will be a bigger job than expected. I put some tape on the thread and screwed it back on as I leave...

    Pressure side leak (PVC) repair…

Hi, here is a wider shot. I noticed that the leak is as in the video when I first start the system up, after a while, the leak is less (more like a drop or two every few seconds)

    Pressure side leak (PVC) repair…

Hi, is this leak acceptable or is it something that needs to be taken care of this season (season ends in early Sep). Any suggestions on fixing it without replacing the plumbing? Thanks

    Cloudy water

Typo, after the 8th drop it started to chance color slightly but once I put the 9th it changed to pink 100%. It’s hard to tell the CYA cause it was so low yesterday and I added 2 gallons of stabilizer yesterday afternoon. At 30 level I can barely see the black dot… I am using TF-Pro with...

This morning Free Chlorine is holding: FC: 10.5 CC: 10.5 PH: 7.8 ALK: 90 CYA: 20 to 30 ish I have people coming over in about 3 to 4 hours. I assume the sun will get rid of some the CL so it’s same to swim….

    Cloudy water

I am following the SLAM process. Keeping the FC level at 10. I have some guests coming tomorrow, I told them pool might not be usable. Question, I have a offline chlorinator, I don't use it but it's connected. Perhaps I should put in a 3 inch tablet or 2 as that will also help increase the...

Ok, I added liquid chlorine to 10. My CYA level is low (so I will add chlorine more frequently). I have liquid stabilizer, I can add that too if it helps?

    Cloudy water

Starting new thread, as now im more concerned about balancing the water to remove cloudiness: Pool was opened 5/17 (was totally green) and only shock was added by company. I left on business trip and got back yesterday, had another CO vacuum yesterday. Test results yesterday afternoon...

Hired new company for opening and I was not aware they don't vacuum, etc.

The company is coming tomorrow to vacuum. I won’t be home till tomorrow, but today my wife noticed that the flow seemed weak in the pool so I asked her to check the PSI. Since I backwashed it Friday (after it ran for 2.5 hours post opening) it went up from 10 PSI to 27 PSI. I told her to shut...

I ordered the PRO. Based on the pictures above, would it be ok to use the robot and not bother paying the pool co to vacuum, or is that too thick on the bottom for the robot?

Which test kit of those two would you recommend to a beginner using these type of test kits.
