    NO backwash pressure

Thank you for posting the true resolution. Upon closer investigation while facing the same issue...I did the same **** thing. It was very nearly the only thing I had to keep straight while cementing in new PVC for my new filter and I mixed up the two. This would also explain why I get a bit of...

    Pool Hose Coming Apart

The 280 has been ordered. The 360 is for sale.

Recently Re-Plastered; pits, cracks, and lines already?

The subcontractor reviewed the work today and agreed, at least, there should be no cracks so soon after the work - he said they're planning to send out a diver (which sounds very dramatic).

Recently Re-Plastered; pits, cracks, and lines already?

I referred the prime contractor to this thread - he's since been in contact with the sub to come back and have a look.

    Pool Hose Coming Apart

With the current setup, the 360 doesn't do anything when the pump is off - I'm not sure how the 360 is supposed to work sans pump. The 280 is certainly more appealing to my wallet. And the 360 works fine, theoretically, so hopefully there's some kind of market on craiglist.

    Pool Hose Coming Apart

That does make sense. On one hand, I'm glad the problem isn't that I'm incapable of assembling a simple hose. On the other hand, that would be a much less expensive problem.

Recently Re-Plastered; pits, cracks, and lines already?

I did send photos to the prime contractor - he said the cracks are common at this stage of curing and should disappear - and imperfections in the plaster are normal. The work was subcontracted out to a company that, I'm told, does most of the re-plastering work around here. With the lights out...

    Pool Hose Coming Apart

The pump is a PB-4 - the vacuum is a Polaris 360. We're told it's not "quite right" for our pool - the previous owner purchased it back in 2005.

    Pool Hose Coming Apart

Not on the pump - the hose between the inlet in the pool and the vacuum itself - I think it's officially called a feed hose. Something like this guy: http://www.amazon.com/Feed-Hose-Polaris-Pool-Sweep/dp/B00527QTFG/ref=pd_sbs_lg_50

    Pool Hose Coming Apart

We have a Polaris Vacuum Pump - a PB-4 - and a Polaris sweeper. Since we replaced the pump, the hose has been coming apart at the connections. Just too much pressure or is this just a common problem with older hoses?

Recently Re-Plastered; pits, cracks, and lines already?

Yes - they appear along the bench seat: 001 by DC Orbiters, on Flickr In daylight, the pitting and lines in the main pool are not noticeable. We just haven't used it at night when the lights show the imperfections so clearly.

Recently Re-Plastered; pits, cracks, and lines already?

We have owned a pool for two months - it was re-plastered just before we took ownership. Today, I noticed a few cracks around the "bench" in our built-in hot tub. I was losing daylight as I investigated and, upon turning on the main pool lights, I saw mild pitting and plenty of lines/slightly...

Hi- My wife and I bought a house two months ago and I'd like to say we adopted a pool as part of the transaction. It's a 25k-ish gallon 25yr-ish old Roman-style with a built-in hot tub. The former owner covered re-plastering before we moved in. We're now learning the daily joys and trials of...
