    The gauge is a brand new gauge. What happened is the old gauge (not pictured) blew off and it was a hollow thread body attached the gauge.     This is my 1st time opening my pool and had everything hooked up, turned on the pump and in a matter of seconds the pressure gauge (previous owner left it in over winter) blew off leaving the brass threads in with the plastic threads of the sand filter.
