How much would it cost to fix it?

Last summer. The price from my amigos wouldn't be that much different. Materials were not substantial.

How much would it cost to fix it?

My situation was similar. Not as far down into the shell (just the thick mortar layer which went halfway down the tile) but it was much wider, like 20' wide. The repair cost $3K in the Baltimore region. Your repair is down into the shell, so will require some harder gunite removal. But still, in...

Crack behind tile line in gunite pool

We had a repair done last year which was similar is scope (depth) although the root cause was up for some debate. They did about 25' of one side for about $3,500 as a price point. However, you would need to buy coping as well. In the end, I'd say it would be a nice upgrade, if you prefer coping...

Potential New Pool Owner - Questions Before Starting To Get Quotes

Another vote for a bench versus ladder. I have multi-level benches in the deep end on both sides. One side is enough and I would not put it the length of the end for sure. It interferes with the hypothetical swim lane - whether for you or someone else. Our benches have a shorter section on deep...

New Build - Vinyl Pool - Final Planning Prep - Digging Stage

I’ve probably lifted them 4 times in 12 years. I asked kids to avoid it. But I walk on it. I just don’t dive from it. I probably could but I’m under 150. A lot of weight on the leading edge could possibly tip it a bit. It does overhang a small amount. I also asked kids to avoid it because our...

New Build - Vinyl Pool - Final Planning Prep - Digging Stage

Stones, for me, provided the more upscale aesthetic we wanted in the space. Also allows for standing on them. They may say you can in aluminum, but I was suspect and it has to be less solid. Repairs aren’t cheap when needed, but overall benefits have been fantastic. Yes you do have to move the...

Automatic Pool Cover Lid for Pavers - Ideas for cover to hold pavers

Though he didn't show the bracket setup in relation to the trays, I am certain the arrangement is to have each tray separate, not welded. And each tray would cover half of two brackets. The brackets get shared between two trays with each taking up half of bracket surface. At the ends of course...

    Foot Washer

When our pool was finished but before the landscaping was done, I kept two buckets by opposite corners of the pool for this purpose. I dumped them daily and refilled with pool water. I found adherence to be moderate among others and high for myself. To the extent they got used, it helped. That...

    Stamped Concrete Decking Repair

I acid stained my concrete deck but the 10 year old surface was in good shape to begin with. I don't seal. I like the product and how it is lasting two years on. Original stain was water based and was gone in 10 years. I have no input on the surface preparation from a rehabilitation standpoint...

    DIY Pool Cover Options?

It may not be much different in price, but Merlin is another safety cover brand with similar quality to Loop-Loc. Our Merlin Smart Mesh cover is 12 years old and still in excellent condition - though I only keep it on for 5 months per year in Maryland. Yes, autocovers are the ultimate...

    Aquamatic cover woes

I can relate. They are fantastic. I would do it again in a similar situation. But the repairs, when needed are spendy. I do have a fence, so when my rope broke, I was able to manually opened and left it open until repair. I hope they fix it up on the first try for less than a grand.

    Worms

Are the worms coming in through the doorway or everywhere? I'm wondering if you need to caulk the joint of your cage and deck all the way around as they may be going under the it, which would be an easy solution.

New Pool Build - NE OK - Beginning from scratch and looking for design feedback.

I have never had a spa, so it's just conjecture on my part, but I think I'd be fine with your spa placement. I certainly agree on the winter wind concern. It's only about 10-12' from the pool if I'm guessing correctly. Not exactly 'distant'. I suppose the concern could be that if the folks in...

    Mesh pool cover

Not sure if you pulled the trigger yet, but I have a Merlin Smartmesh cover from 2013. I install it first week of November and it comes off early April. So it doesn't really get a lot of UV exposure. It's still in excellent shape, with no tears and it doesn't feel brittle or chalky yet. I also...

    Automatic Pool Cover Lid

Pricing always seems excessive for pools. And for pool covers it’s doubly so. The brackets for the coping are very heavy duty and some real labor to get them right. And the extra coping. And profit. I get it but the two cover styles are light years different. Have him provide a detailed work...

Opinions on this 16x36 sport pool surround please

The only look similar to that which I've seen that may be practical is to have artificial turf installed in those channels. Though I've often wondered, for those who have turf by the pool, does the rubber infill material, which allows the turf to remain upright and not get matted, make its way...

Opinions on this 16x36 sport pool surround please

They look like great rocks for skipping! That aside, although the aesthetics can look nice, I prefer a solid surface for functionality. Also consider those with (now or in the future) mobility issues and how comfortable they would feel walking around the pool on it. I presume with little rain...

    Loose Estimates

Looks fantastic! I too like the silver/gray travertine. We are looking at a gray scale house in the future and have noted your color/brand. How's the planning for that Polar Plunge party you mentioned around Thanksgiving? Today would be perfect!!

Autocover owners - Should we be concerned about the lid pavers moving / falling?

Did they get things installed and finished up?

Autocover owners - Should we be concerned about the lid pavers moving / falling?

I personally never liked our tile. It has a greenish/pinkish note to it, though it generally matches the deck. However, due to a bond beam issue on part of our pool, we replaced that section of tile during the repair, but did not want to do the whole pool. So now our tile is mismatched, though...

Another build issue - tabletop height

I'd slap another table top on top and be good. You'd just have a seam which doesn't seem too unseemly. The height would be good AND it would help the proportions. Relative to the mass of everything around it, the tabletop looks a little thin. In houses, the trend is slowing down, but thick...

Autocover owners - Should we be concerned about the lid pavers moving / falling?

Yeah, I can give some real world input. I'll also include a few pictures of mine so you can compare. My stones are 12" x 24", and my stones don't cover out as far as yours do. They only cover the back edge of the pit wall. The height that my cover rolls back at wouldn't support it going under...

High tide problems - What are the solutions?

Thanks for the update. You're in a tough spot. I'd be interested in how forward looking the engineering design of the pool is (to say nothing of the house) considering the direction that ocean levels are going. If I owned that property (I could have but we chose to buy higher soundfront land)...
