Marble pavers - sand or no sand?

Been there done that with Polymeric sand and don't ever care to go there again. Hard rain washes it out...it's a pain (and a mess) to re-do and at least in S. FL it develops mold and weeds come through. This was pavers over sand that it was used on.

Ok so SLAM levels are the same for LC and SWG? Oops saw the answer above but can't delete comment. Is there a way to do that?

Yes!! I keep the chart with my testing kit. SLAM targets are the same for LC and SWG?

Where can I find one of these tables for a Saltwater Generator? Thanks. I see the calculator but would like to see a table showing CYA level/min FC/Target FC/SLAM FC all on one table for CYA levels from 20-100 for a SWG...assuming the table is different. Thanks.

New to TFP but not new to pools - numbers are off

So here is my current log. I can't seem to get TA to budge much even though I'm adding about 6 cups of acid per week. Any thoughts on what I can do to get that TA down a bit so I can stop having to add so much MA? How far down can my pH safely go if I were to bring it down with a lot of acid...

Why get a SWCG rated for more than your Pool Volume?

Thanks. I will get the K-1766 and yes I have a Speedstir...great investment! Leslie's was $600 cheaper for the SwimPure Extreme 40K than Pinch a Penny...yikes!

Why get a SWCG rated for more than your Pool Volume?

So the pool store wants an additional $400 for the AQR 940. Obviously there will be less pump run time and I guess I would be able to keep it at a lower percentage as well in order to replace/generate 2ppm every day? I've done the pool math as far as output and the FC level based on output and...

Why get a SWCG rated for more than your Pool Volume?

OK cause I was told by pool store that with the 925, I would need to run pump in winter into spring 8 hours then spring on 8-10. What do you figure it would be with the 940? I'm in South Florida so very wet spring into fall and of course very intense sun (but we don't swim much). Fall and winter...

Why get a SWCG rated for more than your Pool Volume?

Oh I see, so based on the capacity of my pool, that's what the 2x or 3x means. So if I wanted a 3X unit, I'd be looking at a 36K-40K model. Is there less pump run time with a larger unit? I probably could but don't want to

Why get a SWCG rated for more than your Pool Volume?

So what would you say the AQR-925 is? 2X or 3X?

Why get a SWCG rated for more than your Pool Volume?

Great! Thanks Maddie. I figured there had to be some logical reason why I was referred to the IC60. So the AQR-925 recommended by the pool store should give me the same benefit as the IC60 (I guess they are a Hayward distributor and only offer Hayward), meaning I will not be struggling to keep...

Why get a SWCG rated for more than your Pool Volume?

Just curious and trying to learn but why would I buy the IC60 versus the IC20? My pool is only 12K gal.? The installer we are thinking of going with wants to install a Hayward AQR-925 for $2100 plus 8 bags of salt and tax. Is the 925 overkill for our pool? Also, is evertyhing tested the same way...

New to TFP but not new to pools - numbers are off

MY CYA is at 50 so I shouldn't need to add stabilizer probably until the rainy season since, from what I've read/been told here, the only ways you lose CYA are through rain, splashing water out, and draining the pool. Rainy season is coming so I probably will need to add stabilizer sometime in...

Yup, read and noted. I can't really check pH until my FC goes below 10 again but yesterday's check, before adding chlorine and 2 cups acid was FC - 6, pH 7.8, and TA of 225. I may try aerating to try to bring the TA down a bit. I need some new return jet fittings though...my eyeballs popped out...

Why is it necessary to put in the size of your bleach jugs in Pool Math

If this information is helpful, then no harm adding 320 oz. standard-size pool store jug...at least in our parts. Then mine could say...add .5 jug to mean 1.25 gal. Seems logical. Or have a drop down box which lets you choose the measure of your jugs (gals. or oz.)

New to TFP but not new to pools - numbers are off

Yup...at 6 right now so adding 1 gallon 10.5% today. My CYA is at 60. I think that should raise FC to about 16...just so I'm not having to add chlorine every other day. Prefer to test every day and only add once a week if possible. We're not doing much swimming yet and chlorine seems to be...

Why is it necessary to put in the size of your bleach jugs in Pool Math

Since the calculation will be the same for all jug sizes (the volume of Sodium Hypochlorite is always the same no matter how much of it you're using) why is there a drop down box to put in the size of your jug? And if there some logic to this, could you please consider adding 320 Oz. to the list...

New to TFP but not new to pools - numbers are off

That article still does not answer my question. "Continue adding drops as long as the color continues changing. The final drop, that does not change the color any further, does not count." So so if it turns light pink on the 20th drop and then on the 21st drop it changes to a little darker...

New to TFP but not new to pools - numbers are off

So I think I'm in a good space right now. Here are today's numbers. I do have a question about what my "working" FC level should be going forward considering my location and current weather patterns. I know that 3ppm max is where you like to keep it but I feel like because of weather...
