    Rusty Rebar

What about rust leaching through the finish causing stains? That’s my biggest concern. Seems like removing stains requires removing the rebar which in this case is the whole thing. PB wants to charge $5000-7000 to redo rebar.

    Help, pool design issue!

Lol, we can’t take care of landscaping if their crew rips our trees out. PB said crew person (speaks Spanish) called him on the phone and asked him about, “the bushes” and PB said to pull them. He thought he meant bushes (which we don’t have) not $800 trees. More poor planning on the part of...

    Rusty Rebar

This is all excellent information. I have found a lot of this on the web in my searches, but I guess I need a bottom line: The rebar was installed then we had 6 weeks of rain. We had a lot of water in the pool then vegetation grew and needed to be cleaned out. Then the grotto needed to be...

    Rusty Rebar

I guess my biggest concern is rust leaching and staining the finish of the pool. Most of the pool has this amount of rust on it. It’s been sitting 10 months. PB said they came a wire scraped it and there is still this amount of rust on it.

    Rusty Rebar

We started our project last Feb then rains hit and there were more delays with problems with the grotto design the. We added a spa and that took more delays so our rebar sat. Today we had an inspection for the spa pipes and the inspector did not like the rusty rebar. My PB said he was going to...

Fiber Optic Cable for Star Field

Yes, I understand. Here is a pic representing the structure. The rebar for the jump ledge is surrounded by chicken wire. PB has never done fiber stars in a grotto and he’s saying to drop them down over the top of the chicken wire, but I’m concerned about the weight of gunnite and people...

Fiber Optic Cable for Star Field

We have some variable sized fiber optic strands which are going into the grotto for a Star field effect. The strands are in a covered cable. Once we strip back the covering, the strands get pulled into the grotto area before gunnite (see YouTube video on this). We hope to bundle them and...

    Lousy Spa Contract?

Great, thanks! I have NO clue. I did ask about the pressure. He said 6 jets which I think share with the pool. We have a separate pump for the slide, waterfall, and bubbler. I’m sure not a blower. As far as suction and return pipes, no clue. So I will ask about those things, but if you...

    Lousy Spa Contract?

So we started this process last summer. Took weeks to get PB to put together a decent contract and I’m not even sure it was. Then problems, delays beginning with layout in Feb. Now because of his poor planning there is not enough deck space for a stand alone spa, so we are considering...

    Grotto Lighting Help Needed ASAP

Having our grotto designed this week. I was looking for some small twinkling RGB lighting which could go in the walls and ceiling of the grotto. PC mentioned fiber optics, I guess the bulb is changeable and it’s located down the cable. I’ve seen the SR Smith micro lights with premiere...

    Help, pool design issue!

Our contractor designed a pool with a grotto and when he came out to lay it out he ignored the plotted out design and laid it out differently, practically just holding out his hands and saying, “I need about this much room for the grotto”. It seemed nice until we came home one day and the...
