I tried to get as close as possible. The camera I have isnt waterproof...zoomed in as far as i could. Ill attach another one if I can crop it closer up. Its just weird that the spots pretty much settled in that one area. There are a lot more of the spots but they are scattered around here...

Do you think that maybe when they mixed the plaster and used my hose..which is well water...caused it? I know the front hose is attached to a softener/conditioner but the back one isn't. The pool store said something about manganese, that its prevalent in our area, however, they also said...

It was like the black stuff was under the plaster kind of sticking out. Mind you, the spot was only MAYBE the size of two pencil heads. That spot was definitely darker than the ones I took pictures of. At first, I thought it was on top of the plaster but I dug in to scrape what I could (along...

The algae didnt flake off..the bit of plaster did then, the black/purple piece that was kinda under it came off. I tried to get it under my nail but, it was small. I scratched at the other ones, and nothing. I do have pucks....wasn't sure if I should try that on the plaster since it's pretty...

Thanks for all the responses (now Im confused though :-D ) I though the dichlor was good for new plaster UGH! Now I have no idea how to administer chlorine etc other than throwing tabs in the skimmer!! I use the metal out because we have well water and when I top off the pool, we use the...

You both are right about the warranty. You have no idea. The store wants me to treat for blk algae. Brush the pool as well as thoroughly brush the black spots...back flush if necessary. Add shock to the pool (dichlor) 2x what I normally use for my pool size. Wait 15 mins. Add silver...

Ill take a look at the test kits. I had one with my old pool and it just stressed me out! The fireworks we had were pretty big (mortars). They weren't shot off near the pool but, they were very large! The only reason I thought maybe it was that is because its in the shallow end only. Ill...

Jason, I was told week 1 and 2 no chlorine (by the pool builder). I added both stabilizer and chlorine tabs the beginning of week 4. I have shocked twice since the beginning of week 3 (Friday will be 1 month). The results were from the pool store. They said there is defiantly something...

I know these spots weren't there at least the first 2.5 weeks. This is the 3rd plaster job we have had since the pool was built 3 years ago so...you can see where we stand with the pool company that built it (NON recommend). The reason I know is we went over the plaster job with a fine tooth...

Hi, Just want to thank everyone in advance! New to this site, however, I have been reading a lot on here in the last few years! Here is my question.... Does anyone know what these spots are? My pool was recently plastered (about a month ago) and these showed up (or I just happened to notice...
