Adding the intellichem to my system (Intellicenter and IC40 swg)

I have a cover but it's not always closed, can you tell me why that makes a difference? It seemed like it'd add small amounts of acid all the time rather than me adding larger amounts, I'm also looking forward to the pH & ORP graphs that'll be on my Intellicenter app

Adding the intellichem to my system (Intellicenter and IC40 swg)

Hi everybody, I haven't checked in for a while. I have the IntelliChem 522621 on the way and I'm looking forward to installing it in my system in the next week or 2.

Just bought a house with a pool, do I not have a control panel?

Hi, @guinness messaged me ~45 minutes ago about this thread, my control panel is still available, people here can see if it's exactly what you need. https://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/for-sale-easytouch-4-p-s-control-panel-pwr-supply-breakers.258829/#post-2262165

First test after drain, refill, and switch to SWG

I like the idea but rain a barrel seems like another body of water to manage, otherwise it'd risk bacteria etc, not to mention all the debris it'd pick up in my instance like pine needles, leaves, dirt, and whatever else from my asphalt shingles & roofing gutter system. Possibly a good solution...

First test after drain, refill, and switch to SWG

Seemed like the thing to do! I'll stop if needed, I'm just trying to balance the water. If pointless I'll stop! I haven't even tested TA in I bet >15 years

First test after drain, refill, and switch to SWG

I'm wondering if TA is something I'll be able to lower and maintain, or if it's just not possible with some people's water: https://sandy.utah.gov/1058/Water-Quality Here's my notes since yesterday: 7/22/2022: 11:41am: added 64oz 31.45% MA 12:15pm: ph 7.41 per digital meter, turned on spa...

First test after drain, refill, and switch to SWG

I'm going to start the TA reducing process - drop pH to ~7.2, aerate to raise pH back to ~7.8, use MA to drop the pH......... rinse/repeat. Pool Math is calling for ~1.25 gallons of 14.5% MA to do this - any idea on how many cycles it'll take? My spa bubbles like crazy, I'll probably set my...

First test after drain, refill, and switch to SWG

quick test: FC: 7.5 CC: .5 TC: 8 pH digital: 7.79 pH titration: 7.8 TA: 120-130 **TA test: @ 12 drops it changed to red, at 13 it was Really Red. Is TA 120 or 130?

Retrofit Auto Cover - Anyone Have One & Do You Like It?

I have just a keyed switch, search Cover Pool Keyed switch, it's the red one. There was a friendly guy at the cover shop who threw one in when I bought a new motor a few years ago. I've replaced my cover twice in 18 years, getting ready to replace it again in the next couple years (tear from...

Thanks Mike! I tested ph and added more MA, I just modified the post above trying to keep it simple.

First test after drain, refill, and switch to SWG

just tested pH again this morning - 8.06 per digital meter, real close to 8.2 per the small block titration test. I added what Pool math called for: 70oz of MA - (2 quarts 6 oz). --- edit: Tested again ~1.5 hours later: 7.71 pH Added 32oz 14.5% MA @ 9:45am - will test TA, CL (fc & cc), and...

Retrofit Auto Cover - Anyone Have One & Do You Like It?

Have you considered one of the big covers that are usable when closed? (I have!) I have a ton of trees, so does my neighbor, and we get a lot of snow, so my pool season is officially May-September, but I'll extend that ~1.5 months each direction sometimes. The quote you received was higher...

Hayward H400 shuts down after 10-15 seconds

That looks like my old heater! Could be your flow switch (had a tech come out to replace mine in ~2006), not sure what else they did. I replaced mine with a mastertemp400 back in 2010, wasn't too hard. Newer will be more efficient.

Diving board base studs - epoxy fill?

looks like the holes are only going to be filled, doesn't need to be structural...other than to hold a small plug/patch in place. There's a self-leveling sealant by Sikaflex that I think would work perfectly. It's a rubbery sealant for horizontal surfaces only (it'll drip down vertical...

Pentair IntelliCenter Pool Control Dashboard Instructional Guide

This is going to be one of my next projects. I've done just a few things with Raspberry Pi: game emulator, remote BBQ thermometer, easy arduino projects. There's a couple things that are < desirable in how the Intellicenter works: constantly booting me from being logged in, and then the web...

Pool vaccum - how to unhook

there are a couple variations of skimmer basket caps that have vacuum hose attachments. I have a hose like that, I wrapped a ~1/2" thick collar (repeatedly wrapped a roll of electrical tape around the hose) around one section to prevent it from being sucked down the pipe...

Good deal on Dolphin E30, saved $222

I bought an intellicenter rs485 & valve expansion module from Wild West PS last week, it arrived 2 days later. They sent follow-up emails (I ignored) making sure everything was fine and requesting a review.

Is all this snow joe going to prevent my pool from freezing this winter?

I just had a strange thought after adding ~25# of ice melt to my pool today....... Is my pool still going to freeze this winter? I'm ok if it doesn't! https://www.homedepot.com/p/Snow-Joe-Melt-50-lb-Resealable-Bag-Calcium-Chloride-Pellets-Ice-Melter-MELT50CCP/206402772

    Sputtering Jets-

Cavitation can introduce air before the pump - it's like a would-be leak but sucking air, or high pressure suction creating a vacuum around an obstruction in the pipe. not sure what exactly you mean by sputtering, is it air, or poor flow, or.... Check out this video I saw posted:

Retrofit Auto Cover - Anyone Have One & Do You Like It?

Theirs goes into the ground, like mine; the only difference between theirs and mine is my track rails are under the deck, their tracks are on the deck. My pools a rectangle, theirs is a little more free form. I looked for pictures real quick but didn't see anything

Can't find junction box. Pentair Intellibrite.

see if you have a cable in your power panel that looks different than everything else.....hopefully a cable that looks similar to what's attached to your new light. I've replaced ~3 of my lights, they're halogens, and their cables are fat/black/rubbery, easy to identify.

Retrofit Auto Cover - Anyone Have One & Do You Like It?

my cousin has a pool with the retro-fit cover, it seems fine to me. They have huge family parties almost every weekend. The rails pretty much disappear but they're surface mounted on the deck. My cover was build with the pool, it's a little cleaner, but I wouldn't hesitate to at least talk to...

First test after drain, refill, and switch to SWG

I don't. I wish I'd have kept a sample but I wasn't even sure I'd drain/refill. I suddenly decided to refill midway through my intellicenter install, I was debating it but wanted a full pool to test the equipment. I'll target the lower amount and see how it works

First test after drain, refill, and switch to SWG

This is a new fill with only Salt and CYA added so far - should I test just tap water? Edit: my test kit was still out, I just tested the tap water. Tap water's CH is 125-150ppm
