Safe to swim? FC 8, PH 7.7, CYA 0, TA 53, CH 24

Thanks so much for your help. Will follow the advice but if you have time, could you help me understand why my approach wasn't effective? Just trying to learn 🙂

Safe to swim? FC 8, PH 7.7, CYA 0, TA 53, CH 24

My test is FC 8, CC 0, CYA 0, PH 7.8 (will add muriatic acid for this as I have to weekly), and I didn't test CH. We use SWG for chlorine and I have lowered the output to 20% (thinking about turning it to 0% if the chlorine level keeps so high). My confusion is if CYA is needed to hold...

Safe to swim? FC 8, PH 7.7, CYA 0, TA 53, CH 24

I have the TF-Pro test kit and because I still feel the need to cross check my test results, I took the water into Leslie's. The last time I added Chlorox chlorine stabilizer was several months ago. This was the only brand I could find at the time. I'm a bit confused though because if I...

Safe to swim? FC 8, PH 7.7, CYA 0, TA 53, CH 24

Hello - I've been maintaining the water since we installed our pool (1.5 yrs) trying to follow TFP methodology. For the past month, the FC has been 7-8 and I've lowered the SWG to 20% but the FC hasn't come down. We would like to heat the pool to swim but I'm not sure if it's safe; do I need to...

    Set-up on EasyTouch 8

Our PB had the EasyTouch 4 in the initial plan and when I advised that I wanted independent control of the pool lights, spa light, bubbler light, sheers, bubblers, spa blower and have capacity for future landscaping lights, he said we would need the ET8. (We did not further upgrade to the...

Equipment Installation - Heater Facing Backward

I went to take a better look and how everything will be flowing. It looks like the inline is the last thing the water will flow through and then returns. So your recommendation is to make sure there is a way to bypass the inline, right?

Equipment Installation - Heater Facing Backward

When we decided to go with SWG, I told the PB that I didn't want the inline chlorinator and he said, you'll still need it. So I then researched a bit more and was convinced that we would need it if the SWG ever failed. Also, we're getting Pebble Tec and it states that it cannot be salt water...

Equipment Installation - Heater Facing Backward

Our equipment was just installed (feels like we're making progress on the build - woohoo!) But the front of the heater is facing the house which will make reading the panel very difficult. I'm also not sure if it's configured correctly. Any advice? TIA!

    Rolled Edge Spa

Thanks for sharing! If they have a true reason that they cannot because of the spillway being lower then I'm going to see if they can build similar to yours. The whole point of having the rolled edge is for comfort so why would I only want comfort in half the spa 🤷‍♀️

    Rolled Edge Spa

Thank you all for sharing. I was hoping to see if someone had any spillways that are also rounded but maybe it really doesn't exist...

    Rolled Edge Spa

We added the "rolled edge" after we agreed on this design so we didn't get an updated visual. I love how your spa has the rolled edge all the way around. Just haven't seen any pics of rolled edge with a spillway like mine. 😔

    Rolled Edge Spa

Hi - our spa is similar in how only half will have the rolled edge and then the other half will be the spillway but it will be tile. Do you know if they can make that rolled as well? My PB is saying the spillway isn't a rolled edge but I don't understand why it couldn't be. Most of the seating...

    New Build - Control Panel

I was partially kidding on what I get a say on... I literally know zero about how the pool equipment should be laid out so I was just going to trust on that. I do know that my skimmers are independently plumbed and we have 5 returns on a loop throughout the pool. I will definitely make sure...

    New Build - Control Panel

Nothing has been provided on this and I haven't thought to ask. I guess I just figured I don't really have a say as things will get connected the way they usually do. 🤷 I feel like I hired a PB for expertise in something! Hahaha...

    New Build - Control Panel

You have all convinced us to add the SWG! Unfortunately, PB said that the inline chlorinator will still need to remain (it's only $150). I figured it would be good for us to have in the winter months to supplement chlorine when the temps drop below 50. As for the UV sanitizer... We have a...

    New Build - Control Panel

Yes - we moved the bubblers during construction as I think we will get better lighting on the ledge at night spread across vs how it is in the rendering. From most of what I've been reading about those loungers, they're not very comfortable and quite pricey. I think we'll probably go with some...

    New Build - Control Panel

@.ben I'm feeling more and more compelled to switch to SWG. I'm guessing there isn't any corrosion on the pool equipment either?

    New Build - Control Panel

Thanks for everyone's input. Here are the renderings and progress thus far... I reached out to the PB to ensure that we have enough relays on the ET8 and he says that both of the pumps have individual slots and do not take up a relay. Given this, we will likely stick with the ET8 since it...

Thank you for the feedback! Very helpful. I tried to upload some pics of where we're ay with construction but it said the file size was too large for the server?? I tried with just one picture and it wouldn't work either.

    New Build - Control Panel

So thankful for this community and the advice that everyone offers from their experiences! Please excuse my lack of knowledge on any acronyms or terminology as this is our first pool. We're currently building: -14,500 gallon in-ground gunite pool/tanning ledge/spa with spillway -3 water...
