    cloudy water

OK, my over night test was borderline 1-2 ppm cl loss. I tried bumping chlorine up to 8 and the pool didn't cear do I did a slam. I targeted 25-28ppm. The first day or two I was having to add a gallon or more daily to keep it above 20, the last 24 hours it has held at 26-27 and the water is...

    cloudy water

Thanks for the quick relies. I'm doing the overnight test tonight. Assuming it's normal, then I should just bump up the Chlorine level in the 5-7 range and not slam. One more topic. Opinions on SWG runing daytime or night time? I run my pump at 1200 rpm about 18 hours a day and the SWG from...

    cloudy water

I probably know the answer to this before I post. "Needs to be slammed" I'm having a problem with my water this year, other years also for that matter. I have the TF100 test kit. If the Cl level gets to 5 or below I get a cloudy water situation. Not green, just cloudy. I have a Jandy...

I wouldn't worry about that little of an over run just continue the process

    Jandy Aquapure 1400

well, I posted a response to this yesterday but apparently hit the wrong button. The new one I put in was giving me an error code the other day at 1200 rpm when it had worked fine for a few weeks at that rpm. It went away when I boosted it to 2500 rpm for cleaning. This time of year my pool...

    Pollen Mistaken as Algae?

I have huge oaks over my pool and suffer that same problem every spring, I've never been convinced it is algae or pollen. The solution for me is the same either way. After they are pretty much done with pollen, I run the cl level up to 25 or so until it clears then vacuum a lot. I'm in that...

    Power Vac pv210

I think I may be going with a Hammerhead cleaner that most of the pro guys use in our area. I found a good price on a new one. I'd like to throw a robot in and be done with it but for at least 4 months a year it couldn't handle what I deal with. Hopefully it will save me a lot of effort and time.

    Power Vac pv210

just wondering if anyone has any feedback on these units. My pool is in an impossible situation. It's located under four large Live Oaks and from March to mid may, I spend far too much time just to keep it looking dirty with a leaf rake and hand vacuume. A robotic cleaner is out of the...

    Swg backwards?

easy enough to correct. just unscrew it and reverse the installation direction. Seem like the installation manual gave some explanation for this but I don't recall.

    Jandy Aquapure 1400

Well, I rolled the dice and bought the new style sensor, giving Jandy one last shot before changing systems. I also have an extra cell that was used a few seasons so I was hoping that the new sensor resurrects my system. That played a roll in the decision process. If it works out I should be...

Aquabot T-Jet Turbo timer or pump issue

can you get a view of the impeller on the pump and make sure there are no threads or debris wrapped around the shaft that would tax the motor and maybe blow the fuse. I know I had that issue at one point on an older model. Company told me to make a little hook out of wire and try to fish the...

    SLAMing a SWG pool

If salt level is truely 5000, I believe that is too high for the Aquapure, I think that the limit is like 3800 if I recall

    Jandy Aquapure 1400

Thanks, I think the last time the sensor was working for me I was able to keep it happy at 1500 rpm on the pump. I'll need to decide, dump another $160 into the Jandy system that has had problems or put it towards a new brand and set up. I see Jandy has a brand new model now but they make me...

    Jandy Aquapure 1400

It's that time of year again in Fl to crank things up in the pool. My sensor on my Aquapure crapped out mid last year after less than a year and I've been just dumping pool chlorine in as needed since then. This time of year I usually switch to dumping chlorine in only because the pool is not...

    SLAMing a SWG pool

I would also check out that Jandy swg if it's an aquapure and make sure it's functioning. The tri sensors go fast in them, I've had at least 4 or 5 over 9 years. I'm about to try the newest version and see if they work any better.

Aquapure SWG "general fault" code 120 can I still run filter

Re: Aquapure SWG "general fault" code 120 can I still run fi I'm a little late in this discussion. I've had a 121-120 error problem since last fall. I replaced the cell and still get it. Despite the code, the cell is producing Chlorine. Just for grins, the other day, I pulled the cord and...

    Pop up system...repair or abandon?

If the are functioning, I'd leave them so that they do help circulate hot water and chemicals. If you have a heater, maybe that's why they built it that way and not for cleaning. Also if you close that circuit off and forget about it, that's a great place for algae to hide out. I pulled all...

    Replacing pop-up pool cleaner system

If the water enters that cover through the single top pipe, you could fabricate a manifold out of pvc pipe that has a "T" for each of the pipes leaving your distributor. Then connect each of those pipes (looks like you have 4) to the T's. It would take some geometrical planning to make it fit...

Heat pump for spa in colder temps???

I'm in NE Florida with a similar sized pool and spa. My system had a heat pump smaller than yours when I first moved in. Though it was on it's last legs (only 5 yrs old). I did use it to heat the spa in the winter and in temps in the high 40's-low 50's. I did not keep the spa heated. I'd...

    Pentair VS pump question

I seem to recall in the manual saying to protect the pump from the elements. With that expensive digital control on it, I put a cover on mine. I've also seen some reports of water getting into the keyboard and screen. For now I just have the bottom of a plastic storage container covering it...

    Pentair Intelliflo VS programing

Just go back in to the program mode and set your speeds and times to what you want. Select menu first then select speeds and go through them as you want and reprogram. The manual can be a little confusing at first but if you run through the process at the pump with the manual, you get the hang...

    stripped screw on Jandy valve

yeah, that was my concern with epoxy, having the valve cover fused and not being able to get it off. That's why I was thinking of filling it, let it dry, then drill and tap it out with the screw. I was hoping someone had a simple fix that works. I was also thinking of using a q tip to put some...

    stripped screw on Jandy valve

Just wondering if anyone has had any success repairing a stripped screw Jandy valves. I've been chasing down a suction side leak and found the grease fitting was leaking a bit, but when I went to take the valve apart and grease the O rings I found that one of the screws was stripped. So I'd...

Intelliflo and Jandy Aquapure 1400 swg

Just curious on anyone out there with an Intelliflow VS and swg, specifically Aquapure 1400. What is the lowest RPM you've been able to run and still have enough flow to activate the swg? I just installed an Intelliflo, my swg is on a bypass that goes to a venturi skimmer. It seems to work...

    CYA Life Span

My CYA goes somewhere every winter in Fl. I usually finish the season at about 40-50. In winter I circulate the pool and don't do much but keep the Cl and pH balanced. The becomes a mess in tree season from Feb-April, then I go crazy to get ready for spring. My CYA is consistantly "0" after...

Subpanel Question - New Intelliflo Pump

I'm not sure how your timer is configured in the breaker box, but intermatic timers in dedicated timer boxes have terminals for line and load. If yours has that, you could just hook the Intelliflo up to the line terminals so it would have constant 220 and not be on the timer, then switch out to...

    CYA levels lowered by chlonine????

Just wondering since I had it quite high for a week trying to root out the mustard algae

Subpanel Question - New Intelliflo Pump

I'm not expert, but I think breaker boxes are set up so that a single breaker slot can only draw power off of one leg of the 220. The different leg contacts zig zag to every other breaker slot if I recall correctly. That's how a double breaker slot picks up both legs.

    CYA levels lowered by chlonine????

Interesting timing on this post. I just went through something similar. I have a K2006 test kit and test at home. My CYA was 50-55 (repeated tests) before I started shocking the pool for a suspected mustard algae problem, that started after bringing my Cl levels down from 20 after shocking...
