I noticed while looking at the chart a salt water pool has lower minimums for chlorine than one maintained by liquid chlorine?? Why is this??

Why would anyone choose a DE filter over a cartridge when building a pool? Is it that much cheaper? Just reading over the years it seems people have way more problems with them.

No valve is shut off to the waste which makes me think it could be going bad too

I have a very small leak where the waste pvc pipe meets the valve union. It’s pretty insignificant at this time so I don’t want to call the PB for $150 to swap in a new 5inch pvc waste pipe. Can I just buy some JB weld for pvc pipe around the union there for a quick fix? Thanks

Haha never used the tube on the side of the PH color chart. I’ll just pour the water in there then back into my tester tube that I use on the spinner. Thanks!

I’ve been using the Taylor kit for years testing my pool and had question. For PH test it says fill the tube to 44ml but there is no line for it. I’ve just eyeballed it for years. Anyone have a mark on it?

My PH is sitting at 7.5 right now after testing. It appears my TA is right at 40. I’m trying to raise it to either 70 or 80 but am worried it will bring my PH too high and I’ll be battling back and forth. Should I lower to around 7.3 and then add baking soda for my TA?

Correct you have to have the waterline right you can’t drain your pool well below filter and do this

Don’t even waste your time with a mesh cover. I’ve had an autocover 4 years now using it as my winter cover. We’ve had winter storms with 18 inches of snow then rainstorms right after and freezing on top zero issues.

Turns out my cell was still very good. The problem ended up be the latest firmware update on the IntelliCenter. The update was bad and I reset back the the previous firmware version and everything is tip top again.

Figure I would post this here. In the pool math app under effects of adding it can estimate the amount of chlorine generated by knowing your salt cell and gallons in your pool along with adding your run time. Now my question is why doesn’t it ask for your pump speed? Wouldn’t you generate...

Yes 8% the entire time and it went up that high. I’ve turned the system off and hit the breaker to cut power and tried again it still is on producing chlorine at all times except when set to 0

I went from 5ppm to 15ppm in 3 days

The high chlorine levels when it is on only on 8%. Also the green light stays on showing it is producing chlorine and does the spinning icon. At 8% it should only be on about 4-5 minutes an hour but it is constantly going.

Did a little more research and I’m thinking the smell I have is from the pool anti freeze. I know it was blown into the pool at opening and then I SLAMed for insurance. Like I said I have no excess chlorine demand and clear water. It’s looking like this goes away with time????
