    Jandy pump failure

Thanks everyone for your help. I had some trouble getting it to prime, but final poured in enough water to get it to go.

    Jandy pump failure

Thanks. I got it off. Got it in my head it was reverse threaded. A soft leather belt helped get a better grip

    Jandy pump failure

I've got the new motor, but now I'm having trouble getting the impellor off the old one. I just tightened that hand tight. I that also reverse threaded?

    Jandy pump failure

The wiring is a little better than maybe what the picture shows, but yeah. Looks like that wire terminal is designed for solid wire. The way you have to bend that wire around the bottom of the terminal and then up and over the screw, it's really hard to do that with this stranded wire. It...

    Jandy pump failure

I connected the capacitor wires together. There are two wires connected to terminal A & B. I left those connected. It's still an open on L1 & L2.

    Jandy pump failure

I thought there were heat protection switches. What you're showing there is just straight up bare wire. It's weird. Yesterday it was working, kind of. It would run, then trip the breaker. It would buzz but not run, then trip the breaker. I was hoping that finding that loose screw, I'd put...

    Jandy pump failure

Two black wires coming from the relay and the green ground wire. I cleaned up those connections a bit, but still nothing.

    Jandy pump failure

I've re-assembled it all. Now it's doing nothing at all. It's got 240V at the input terminals. Zero voltage at the capacitor. Is there an internal circuit breaker?

    Jandy pump failure

Thank you very much for that. The impellor unscrewed pretty easily, and the screw does reverse thread into the shaft. I thought the screw might have came from there initially, but I couldn't screw it back in. So I think I understand it. The motor is spinning freely. I think I'm going to put...

    Jandy pump failure

How do I take this apart to get a better look at what's going on? I can't seem to take apart the impellor housing. I can't seem to separate the motor shaft from the impellor.

    Jandy pump failure

So I've apparently found the problem. The question is where did this screw come from?

    Jandy pump failure

I waited for a half hour and tried again. This time the pump came on and stayed on. It was taking forever for the pump to start. While it churned before it started, there was a vibration, a chugging sound, a little crunchy, hard to describe. The pump finally started, but it didn't quite...

    Jandy pump failure

I've got a Jandy water feature pump/motor that has stopped working. I tested the relay and realized the circuit breaker had been thrown. I flipped the breaker, and at first it came on. I realized the pump was dry because I had drained it to prevent freezing. I started filling it with water...

Jandy JXI 400N heater high limit fault

So the good news is that I tested both switches. One is open circuit, one is closed. The open circuit is the failed switch. I was wrong in my op when I said I shorted the terminals on the control board that nothing happened. Today I shorted it and the heater started to fire up. The...

Jandy JXI 400N heater high limit fault

I think this is one of the two limit switches, lower right. One on either side of this "header" assembly. I should be able to test this with an ohm meter right? Isn't the switch normally closed?

Jandy JXI 400N heater high limit fault

I'm getting a high limit fault. The heater is not coming on at all. I understand there are limit switches. I haven't taken it apart enough so far to see where those are to inspect. My question is how can I test if it really is the limit switches? I saw a circuit diagram on the panel that...

Test results, where do I go?

Yeah, the cya was much higher when I moved in, plus we've had a drought. So it's taken a long time to bring it down. I've been in the middle of the good ranges except for that. I suppose I was just wondering if there was any use to move any one parameter within that range. For example...
