No psi reading on gauge when pump running in "Forward"

I think that is a reference to the RetroChlor chlorinator reversing current flow to 'clean' the plates. From a manual available here: https://www.bestpoolsupplies.com.au/product/1667/retrochlor-cw30sc-30g-h-chlorinator-generic-replacement-for-clearwater-c250-reverse-polarity-self-cleaning ...

    Rebar Form Stakes Removal

Assuming you are talking about the vertical rods between the concrete wall and the hose, it looks to me as those rods likely have "rebar form wire" wrapped around the rod at periodic intervals down in the earth. Not surprising they are difficult to remove. Unless you are prepared to dig out the...

    Rebar Form Stakes Removal

I have in the past used a pipewrench to remove them. Start by just twisting the stake with the pipewrench to loosen it a bit. Then after a few turns, keeping the pipewrench in position, lift up on the pipewrench as you turn.

Pentair ETI 400 heater wont fire

Perhaps that display is really saying "IGN", indicating there is a problem with "ignition". See these earlier threads: https://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/mastertemp-error-code-err-ign.263968/ https://www.troublefreepool.com/threads/pentair-mastertemp-400-not-igniting.158533/

110 volt blower needs replacing, can I go with 230 volt?

I agree that there is a marginal benefit in efficiency using 240 vs 120, due to lower losses due to heat in the conductors. But I also agree that if there are any 'installation costs' to effect a change, then its not likely to pay off. There are plenty of low quality 'electrical' forums out...

Question about equipotential bonding grid under nonconductive surfaces

The surface of porcelain can be conductive under certain conditions. Consider that some electrical power distribution companies send out crews to wash porcelain insulators on distribution equipment to prevent current leakage and flashovers. See . . .

Are wasps/hornets/bees aggravated by my pool pump?

I'm a moderator on a beekeeping forum. I can tell you that "How to keep my bees away from the neighbor's pool / hot tub?" is a popular topic. :laughblue: Generally, bees prefer water sources that are warm, are consistently available, and have a distinct odor (to bees, at least). Pools...

Pentair VS 3HP pump keeps losing power. Proper electrical connections?

I sus[ect that you aren't using the correct breakers. In the photo with the breakers, there is no 'rod' connecting the pair of 20a breaker 'handles'. Those are separate breakers in a single body. You need a breaker that spans both of the buss bars, and the handles should be connected so that if...

    Project Hoss's new pool - Updated 8/8

In a HD close to me, yes 2" Schedule 40 fittings and 2" DWV fittings are in the same aisle. But store layouts can vary as all HDs are not the same size store. Just to mix it up more, note that there ARE fittings that are suitable, and marked for, both pressure (NSF-PW) and non-pressure...

    Project Hoss's new pool - Updated 8/8

If you are a person that actually likes to read manufacturer product labels/directions before giving it a go, :p I find that labels on the solvent cans are not always easy to read. So, attached are a couple of PDFs that are easy to put on a bigger screen. The Oatey one is relatively generic...

    Padding For Under a Ladder

There are heavy rubber mats that are used as "stall mats" in horse stables. I don't have horses, but I did buy one of those mats from TSC: https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/utility-rubber-mat-black-4-ft-x-3-ft-x--frac12-in I just tested, and they are dense enough that they sink in...

HELP please. Despite leveling ground, pavers have cracked.

I didn't mean my comment to imply that. I simply meant that while I believed my comments were reasonably accurate, I don't / didn't do concrete for a living so my concrete experience is rather limited compared to someone in the concrete industry.

HELP please. Despite leveling ground, pavers have cracked.

I'm not a concrete professional. But house foundation walls are typically built on top of poured footings in much less than 28 days waiting. Sometimes they start in 2 days. From what I can tell, typically you could expect about 75% strength in 7 days and what is considered 100% in 28 days...

HELP please. Despite leveling ground, pavers have cracked.

If you are prepared to pour your own, embed some rebar in the concrete, observe the curing time, your pads will almost certainly be better than any 'store bought' blocks. The rebar is key. And your pads could be a bit thicker than 4" if you chose, say 5". Keep the rebar short enough so that...

HELP please. Despite leveling ground, pavers have cracked.

The 4" 'Olde Manor' block above is a better choice than a 2" block for sure. Perhaps not what you want to hear, but 'pouring your own pads' offers the strongest option, in my opinion.:) As we are talking about having the top surface level with the ground, excavate, pour in mixed concrete (from...

HELP please. Despite leveling ground, pavers have cracked.

Perhaps looking for a product that aren't called pavers would offer additional options. For instance, my local Lowes offers these: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Cap-Concrete-Block-Common-4-in-x-8-in-x-16-in-Actual-3-625-in-x-7-625-in-x-15-625-in/3608974 ... which I have used for load bearing...

Connecting ABS filter outlet to PVC for my SWG.

Some manufacturers use non-standard fittings/threads for their equipment, particularly where a 'union' is involved. I have experienced that situation with a Waterway Tiny-Might pump. In what may be your case, Sand Dollar Filters with 2" connections use a union, and I suspect that what is in...

Buried rubber hose instead of pvc?

If the "goodyear rubber" hose is really OK for direct burial, your PB should be able to direct you to the hose manufacturer's data sheet/web page that shows specs/applications for that product including direct burial. I am skeptical that rubber hose (particularly if fittings are buried) is...

    Trees near the pool

Pool or not, Ash trees are at serious risk of turning into dead trees. Domestic Ash trees have no defense against an invasive pest, the ash borer. See this link: https://www.texasagriculture.gov/RegulatoryPrograms/PlantQuality/PestandDiseaseAlerts/EmeraldAshBorer.aspx The dead ash trees on...

Rectangular Intex 12x24 what to put under support legs

An accurate and cheap 'big' level can be made from a long length of clear tubing mostly filled with colored water. Running Ethernet (CAT6) for Access Point, Coax (RG6), and Electric (110V)

I agree that running separate conduits, including for ethernet is a good idea, even if they just get capped off until you need them. As far as mounting an access point, you may find it useful to use POE (Power Over Ethernet) capability. That way there is no AC power adapter 'outside' in the...

Pentair Color Sync Controller installation question

The diagram that you drew does not seem to match exactly what I see in the photo. Note the GFCI photo shows a pair of wires at the Line terminals and another pair at the Load terminals. The Line terminals are the source for the GFCI, and connections there are not protected by the GFCI. However...
