    Pool chemistry is changing

Sounds like you have it narrowed down to happening when the pump is on. Perhaps next step is to look for wet spots as suggested. If there are none, maybe try plugging different things and adjusting settings to see where the leak might be. I’m not familiar with this process so hopefully someone...

    Pool chemistry is changing

I’m in your area and this amount of loss is not typical even with the recent rains unless you drained a significant amount at some point. For reference I drained during the rains to keep water beneath coping and my CH went down 75. It was 350 in Dec and 275 in March from the draining and letting...

    High phosphates reading

It would likely be helpful to get your own test kits and test your water. I have never tested for phosphates, but the link above provides you with the test kit you need if interested. In order to start caring for your pool and understand what it needs or doesn’t need, TFP recommends doing your...

    Solar cover reel?

The fish liquid or whatever is unhelpful. I tried it last year and it didn’t work for me due to water movement. Perhaps it would be helpful in an enclosed environment

    Solar cover reel?

@nuttyp this is so true! I felt like I was reading my own cover story. I was just thinking about how we end up using the pool less and wondered if just sucking it up and heating were the reasonable option. I’m not there yet. I use the cover for 3 reasons 1) evaporation protection 2) heat...

    Possible Spa leak

Hi and welcome. Sorry to meet under these circumstances but you are in the right place. I’m not sure why your spa might be draining- but am responding to your post so hopefully someone will see it soon and give you guidance. A new pool is fun but can be stress at first while you learn how...

My Latest and best way to dissovle CYA,

Ahh another fellow impatient person. I just added cya in a tshirt recently (saw a @Newdude post and was not able to sacrifice a sock this time). I let it hang in front of the return and set a timer for 20 minutes. At the 10 minute mark I went back outside and started squeezing. I yelled to Alexa...

    SWG + algae problems

Welcome. In order to get started you will need to do a slam. When you do a slam the SWG should be off and you should be using liquid chlorine only. You will also need a proper test kit so you can see what you have and what you are working towards. Poolmath will help you track your...

    Salt cell replacement

TFP recommends sizing for twice the size of your pool. So for example for a pool that is 15k gallons a cell rated for 30k gallons or more is preferred. I have the ic 60 because it was a few hundred more and I was already going to do make the change.

    Solar cover reel?

The reels work best when the pool is a rectangle. You could get a reel to get you part way there if that’s worth it to you. I don’t have a reel because my pool is at 2 elevations. I just buy 2 now with one as a backup since it gets destroyed with the frequent removing/putting back on etc. Try to...

    Too Much Salt

If it’s a plaster pool I believe salt is not supposed to be added for at least 30 days. What is the surface of your pool? Though I’m not sure what would happen if you added it sooner.

    Too Much Salt

Totally agree with this. How irresponsible! But in case he won’t fix the error, I recommend you come up with a plan to solve this when you can by draining half or maybe even a little more to be on the safe side and refilling.

I have the dolphin DX4. It works great. The only thing I don’t like is that the cord has started to get twisted. I straighten it now and then and it finds a way to get twisted again.

    New Pool Owner/Build

FC will come down on its own. Leave pool uncovered and give it a few days. You may also want to lower your SWG to get it where you’d like it. Use the “effects of adding” in pool math and determine what works best for your needs.
