New pool cleaner for Katodude to review

I just got the Aquasense Pro and it is currently on its first cleaning. My pool was very dirty so easy to tell when it did not clean. It missed a lot of spots. My pool is irregularly shaped so I assume it opted into the random pattern mode. This is the issue I had with past robots. Random is not...

Odd Behavior: GloBrite lights work/don’t work based on water temperature

TLDR; the warmer the water, the more lights work. I have an odd light behavior that no one can explain. The lights will be replaced soon but I’d still like to understand it. I have 5 Pentair GloBrite color LED lights in my pool. 3 in the pool proper and 2 on the sun deck inside Pentair color...

Drain Water for Pool Light replacements? - Pentair GloBrite

I think last winter I drained down just past my sun/baja shelf, so about 6-10" below my skimmers. This left at least one, maybe more of my lights still underwater for the winter. Does any extra winterization need done for those lights? Anything need done for those that are now out-of-water...

Drain Water for Pool Light replacements? - Pentair GloBrite

TLDR; Does the water level need drained for replacement of Pentair GloBrites? My pool is new (opened in October '22). Immediately 4 of the 5 GloBrite lights for my pool did not work. After struggling with my PB to replace them he finally dumped me off to work with pentair directly and they...

    Chronically high pH

Definitely something I've had an eye on if pH becomes a pain. pH is really the only thing I have to worry about right now. Everything else seems to be dialed in pretty well. PoolMath wants my CH to be a little higher but I'm intentionally staying at the low end of ideal for that anyway. My...

    Chronically high pH

So it has been a couple of days and my pH seems to be holding steady at 8.0, though I am having to add an inch of (9 pH) fill water now. Would you recommend: a) I try to bring my TA down by bringing pH down to 7.0 or 7.2 with acid and aerating pH back up b) just let pH hover at 8.0 and only...

    Chronically high pH

It doesn't help my fill water is like 9 pH, but it also has 30 TA. And I do have to add an inch of water about once a week (or more if I'm testing the waterfall leak...but that's another story). We've had a dry spring. My pool TA has been stable between 60 and 70 (its hard to tell with the...

    Chronically high pH

I wish I could get it to stay at 7.8. If I leave it alone it will be 8.2 in a few days.

    Chronically high pH

Hey all, just wanted to ask if I should be concerned about the chronically high pH in my pool. See my signature for all relevant info. My numbers seem ok but I have to add a lot of muriatic acid (about 1.5-2 pints every two days). I have a big waterfall feature and a couple bubblers but I...

Equipment Pad Plumbing Rework - Advice Wanted

The straight shot is not going to the heater as you can see in the picture. That has been my dilemma. Straight is bypass. diverted right is to heater. I can try 17 but if I remember correctly the check valve flap look like it was still closed. And anything larger than that number seems like...

Equipment Pad Plumbing Rework - Advice Wanted

I just verified that the only way mine goes back to bypass is if I cycle the breaker off and back on. With the breaker on and the pump off, the heater remains in "off" mode and will stay in that cooldown mode. Once I flip the breaker when it powers on it shows version 1.00 and the...

Equipment Pad Plumbing Rework - Advice Wanted

This seems consistent with my setup as well. It only goes to bypass after a power cycle...which never happens unless I intervene as I run my pump 24x7. Even if I didn't, the desired state would be on bypass unless it is specifically called for heat. So regardless once heat goes off it stays...

Equipment Pad Plumbing Rework - Advice Wanted

It does work, but it is still not the flow we wanted. But the water fall still looks nice. It's just when you spend this kind of money on a water feature you want it to be right. There is now a 3" tee about 2 feet underground where the two 2" drain come together. That 3" is then fed to the...

Yep, it is now on the rs485 bus now. The heater display shows it is in rs485 control mode.

Equipment Pad Plumbing Rework - Advice Wanted

I did some more testing and indeed the heater never exits the cooldown mode and never goes back to being on bypass. If I manually actuate the valve to bypass and then later there is a call for more heat, I think this is the scenario where it never actuates back to be off-bypass and the heater...

Equipment Pad Plumbing Rework - Advice Wanted

Update. I may still redo the diverter between the waterfall side and the filter side. It was put in much too close to the inlet of the pumps which will interrupt the laminar flow entering the pump. But at least it works.

@tomas21 @Turbo1Ton @Ahultin So I just had the heater bypass done on my Mastertemp 300. A pentair rep was on site and did the wiring of the actuator and programming with intellicenter. He wired it into the heater as others here have tried. However, I too seem to be having issues with this...

    Bonding Pond Pump

Yeah I am starting to get very nervous using this pump in a pool. It feels like the pump should be listed for pool use. Is there a pool waterfall pump (low pressure high flow) that can deliver 210 GPM? I'm having a hard time finding one and 210 was the requested flow from the waterfall...

    Bonding Pond Pump

I am planning to replace an existing under-powered pool pump with an Aquascapes EXT 18000 Pump to run my pool waterfall feature. This pump does not have a bonding lug readily available like pool specific pumps have. Does anyone know what should be done to bond this pump? Anyone have...

Equipment Pad Plumbing Rework - Advice Wanted

The idea is that when the two combine flow into a T, the input can’t be smaller than the output or you won’t get any more flow than a single pipe alone would provide. So a T taking in 2.5 can’t have more than 2.5 even if you go to a 3. However , if you take two 2” and flow it into a tee that...

Equipment Pad Plumbing Rework - Advice Wanted

Here's a rough idea of using the 45s to avoid moving skimmer/main drain lines. It gets pretty tight for the valve. I wish they came out of the ground further back from the concrete pad. Maybe coming out backwards would give me the clearance I need.
