    I recently fixed a friend's tub which had the same issue and we didn't drain it. You only have to disconnect the air line going to the control panel. Undoing the little rope around the bottom of the motor unit cover was the hardest part.

    The capacitor fix is still working great for me. I didn't test any other capacitor sizes. Different sizes will smooth the signal more/less. Since the 25v 10uF one has about 3 months of testing on my tub I'd use that one.

    I used a 25v 10uF just because that's what I had on hand. Works perfectly still, haven't had a single issue.
