Blue Granite plaster went in today. Acid wash and fill up scheduled for tomorrow! Looks like the 20 week estimated build time was spot on after all.

Finally Finished! - New Build in Tampa, FL

On week 19 now and the pool cage is finally up. Hoping for plaster within the next couple weeks. My experience so far has been about 3-4 weeks of inactivity between each major progress update so it’s probably not going to be completed within the originally estimated 20 week build time. But...

Yeah with the amount of lightning we have here in Florida plus the possibility of a leak going unnoticed in the attic I definitely want the pipe buried instead. Thanks everyone for all your input!

I suppose its more aesthetically pleasing when the pipes are underground and out of sight. If it comes down to aesthetics rather than safety I’m likely to just go with the lower cost option. However I noticed the quote for running the piping through the attic also mentions that “gas piping...

So I’m starting to get quotes to figure the cost of getting my NG heater connected to my gas meter. The price difference between two quotes is about $700 since one contractor wants to dig a trench to lay the pipe underground, while the other is talking about running the pipes up against the wall...

I have so much trash that I am just waiting for the PB to haul away. The trash you see on the sun shelf as well as the pile in the back by the fence was moved actually moved there by the decking people since there is so much that it was blocking their access to the yard. Some contractors do bag...

Finally Finished! - New Build in Tampa, FL

Paver deck is now complete. As long as there is no delay between the pool cage or Pebble Tec I may be done before the end of April!

Yeah thats kind of what I had in mind for cleaning frequency with the current filter size I'll have so thats good to hear. I definitely see where you're coming from in terms of bigger is better for just a couple hundred more dollars. I'll keep checking in with my PB on whether the larger sizes...

Thanks for your response. It looks like you also have a pool cage, how often do you have to clean your filter to keep your water clear? Thanks for your replies. Does the pool cage make that big of a difference in how often I'll have to clean the filter? I could have pushed harder for a larger...

Thanks for the info! I decided to go with the CS150 since my PB said the CS200 was on backorder when I asked for a larger filter.

I am currently in week 14 of the build and still waiting for the deck to get started. Luckily the pavers were recently delivered so I'm hoping the PB will start working on the deck in the upcoming week. According to the PM we are on track to finish sometime in April so fingers crossed. I believe...

    Spa Spillway glass tile/travertine opinion?

It sounds like your PB might be suggesting something very similar to what I have with the entire spa facing the pool and spillway being glass tile. My personal opinion is the same as .ben and kimkats. Glass all the way and tell your friends and family to bring their sun glasses

Currently going into week 10 of the build and today the tile and coping was completed. A couple pictures are attached. So far I’m happy with my design choices. The footers and deck should be up next, but so far the pavers have not been delivered yet so hopefully they show up sooner than later.

Finally Finished! - New Build in Tampa, FL

After gunite was done there was a few weeks of no activity, but then earlier this week plumbing got started and now today pool equipment is starting to get installed. I think overall the project has been going smoothly. Unfortunately I see they installed a Jandy CS150 cartridge filter rather...
