Do I need a new pump?

I do have the pump and polaris on a timer. However, since I'm only going to be replacing the actual motor and not the pump basket and impeller I figure I better match up the motor with the same that came out. Maybe I'll just start running the pump 15 hrs a day instead of 24. Hopefully that...

Do I need a new pump?

I'm in Birmingham. I think I gonna try and just replace the pump motor instead of the impeller and pump basket. I could save couple hundred by just replacing the motor instead of the whole unit. I don't know if a two speed motor would be worth it or how that would work when the booster cuts...

Do I need a new pump?

I currently have 1hp PAC-FAB challenger pump. I think it is about 10 years old. I run the pump 24/7 6 months out of the year in Alabama. This year I noticed the pump was little louder than what I remember. However, yesterday I noticed the noise was even louder. When I checked on the pump I...

    What color liner to buy.

I am replacing my vinyl liner and was wondering what color do most people prefer. My old liner was light blue bottom solid white walls and light blue trim around the top. I actually liked the lighter colors because it allowed me to see any algae growth and easily spot leaks. However, it seems...

    Pool opening nightmare

Yeah I'm hoping I don't have a more serious problem to cause that kind of a rip. Hopefully it was just the cold weather and not problems with the pools foundation. I'm located in Birmingham AL and would welcome any references.

    Pool opening nightmare

Took at peek under the cover yesterday to discover the liner has completely ripped pool completely empty. I knew the liner was in bad shape but not this bad. I guess I just threw away $200 for the cold water dive to repair a small leak in November. Anyway I need suggestions on a new liner and...

Cracked pool deck by stair railing

Does any one have any suggestions how I can repair this crack. It keeps getting worse each year and I've been told it's a non-fixable repair. I've put silicon on it to try and keep water out but I would think they should be some sort of epoxy I could use to keep the concrete from falling...

    Booster Pump hose connection

The leak is on the hose side. I would think a washer would be needed as well but nothing came with it. I'm going to try and find one that will fit at the hardware store and see if that helps.

    Booster Pump hose connection

I'm having a problem with leaking with my connection between the top of my booster pump and the hose. I was getting a significant leak so I tired to tighten and subsequently broke the plastic connector between the hose and the pump. So I purchased a new one and installed however leak...

    Liquidator Settings ?

Just installed my Liquidator and was wondering what flow setting do you typically set your Liquidator at. I know every pool is different and as the chlorine bed gets low the concentration in the pool will be less. However, what is a typicall setting I currently have mine set on "1" since I run...

    Liquidator Check Valves ?

I wish I had thought of the smoker cover before I bought the insulation. The insulation is cheap the weather resistant taping was $20 but still not that bad. The box should be fairly easy to make. I think I'll try it without the check valves I can always go back and add them later if needed...

    Liquidator Check Valves ?

I just got my Liquidator last night and was reading the installation instructions. I think I remember reading on this forum where if you pool equipment is above the pool water level that check valves aren't really necessary? My equipment essentially sits on the pool deck so it is slightly...

Using TriChlor Pucks in the Liquidator?

I didn't know that about floater parking themselves. MIne does that all the time it gets stuck between the ladder and the side of the pool I'm not sure how to prevent though. I just thought it would possibly damage the liner I hadn't noticed any effects on the ladder or the liner really but I...

Using TriChlor Pucks in the Liquidator?

Just curiuos what would happen if you put 5 or 6 chlorine pucks in the bottom on the liqudator and let the pump run 24/7. Keep in mind I know you wouldn't add bleach with the pucks in the unit. But if the pucks were in there by themselves and just slowly dissolved what would that hurt? Would...

    Liquidator installation

After reading several post I'm convinced. I just bought a liquidator. However I have a quick question on installation I know one hole needs to go in front of the skimmer basket and the other directly after the return line on the filter. However, my question is this how much difference would...

    Automatic Chlorinators Suggestions

I was referring to the plastic on the Liquidator. I am already using bleach in the pool with minimal effects on the liner.

    Automatic Chlorinators Suggestions

Where did you find a Liquidator for $80 bucks? The one at www.poolandspawarehouse.com is $147. I've actually been using the BBB method for a couple of years. When we bought the house the pool was on baquacil and I learned the hard way how crappy and expensive Bauqa was. I been pouring in...

    Automatic Chlorinators Suggestions

Does the cost of the liquidator really warrant the benefits over just a standard chlorinator. To me the hassel of having to deal with Liquid Chlorine over just pucks is really a drawback. I know you said I could use bleach but I assume you would need twice as much bleach 6%(bleach) vs...

    Automatic Chlorinators Suggestions

The Liquidator looks like a novel idea. However, I don't see where you can buy one or how much they cost. Also liquid chlorine is hard to find in my area can you substitute bleach instead. As for the installation I'm confused I've seen two different diagrams where exactly should I drill my...

    Automatic Chlorinators Suggestions

I would like to ditch my floater that I use and install a chlorinator I have small kids. I think in my situation I would have to use an offline Chlorinator. Which brand is considered the best. Also any help in the installation department would be appreciated as well. I attached a link to...
