I’m between 80 and 90 so I’m on the high side of range according to Pool Math app. I guess I will just have to keep an eye on my PH rise and go from there.

That’s that I meant. I had already added the soda ash to get my PH to 7.2. I was highly acidic even after raising my TA. I am going to test it again to see what I’m at.

Thanks. If my TA is too high what should I do to reduce it? I know acid would help but that wouldn’t work for my PH.

I’m getting there slowly. Finished adding CYA today around noon and I’ll have a test tomorrow to see where I stand. My PH is at 7.2. Last check of TA was at 70. I needed to add some Soda Ash to raise my PH so I’m not sure if that will effect my TA so I’m going to do a full test of all numbers...

I added a few links to a youtube video since i cold not get my video to upload.

I took a sample and am floored by what I found. What looked like black clumps of ash was actually some kind of living organism. It looks like small bugs to me. Hopefully the video I uploaded works properly. Anyone have any idea how to address this?

To the naked eye it looks like ash to me. I will try to capture some and report back.

Thanks. Pool Math says 60-80 is ideal. I am letting it drop as I keep addressing PH. It was 90 at one point.

TA is at 80. @new dude. Thanks for the feedback. I don’t have any water features so that wouldn’t be a factor. I had read about new pools dealing with this but wanted to make sure it wasn’t out of the norm. I never thought I would have to put in acid every week.
