    CompuPool Platic Wire Cover?

I have a Compupool C35 SWB that recently fried the board and melted the end of the cell, including melting down the protective cap/cup that covers the wires. Since you can't get them without ordering a whole new SWG (which I don't want to do!) I was wondering if anyone had an old one...

    Pool heater over flame?

Hi - turned on the pool heater today and noticed that it cycled a few times. Took off the cover and noticed it was shooting flames out the edges. Disconnected it, blew out the leaves and debris and it's still doing it. It's been turned off and gas supply off as well. Do I need to disassemble...

Benefits of going to a higher HP pump during replacement?

Thanks Jason for quick reply - I was thinking the 2 speed pump as well. Do I stick w a 1 HP 2-speed pump? Also, do I need a new Intermatic timer to run a 2-speed? Suggestions on timer choices?

Benefits of going to a higher HP pump during replacement?

Hi - I believe I have a pump impeller failure, as it's not turning anymore and I get a 'whining' from the motor. The pump is about 8 years old, and this is the second season I've had issues w/it. Last season I replaced the capacitor for the motor after it failed. I get modest pressure on my 3...

Ports don't line up in bench - ugh

Thanks Jason - that's what I thought. I'm going to see if I can slightly "elevate" the seat to see if that gives me enough clearance to get the bulkhead fitting started... otherwise I'm breaking up some concrete!

Ports don't line up in bench - ugh

So when I cloud the pool last year I removed the spa jets, but did not re-instal the outer rings between that hold the bench to the pipes (because they broke when being removed, and I ordered spares). So basically I just plugged the pipes with the plugs, but they were free to move behind the...

1.5 HP Hayward pump not making any noise at all

Hi - have a 240v 1.5 HP single speed Hayward pump (motor model UST1152 or C48L2nN134C1 ?) It's getting voltage to the wiring in the back, from the timer. The impeller also spin freely. When I switch the power on at the timer, I get nothing on the pump. Not even a "whirring" sound. Can...

Thanks. Ill add baking soda tomorrow am and run filter 24/7. Have to get a bit of fiber clear in the am. When is the right time to introduce the VitC powder to eliminate the yellow stains on liner (I confirmed it was metal last year w vitamin C in a sock test). I believe I do that when PH is...

How to properly test for Salt?

ok - found the insert online! http://www.aquachek.com/product_images/ ... Insert.pdf says to only dip into 1 inch of water and keep the top of the strip dry! I wish that was printed on the bottle, but it's not. Have to wait until the yellow bar at the top of the strip turns black, then the...

Anything special needed for CompuPool CPSC 36 Install?

Hi - am going to tackle the install of the CPSC 36 this weekend on my IG pool. Besides the various PVC fittings, is there anything else that might be needed from the local hardware store for the install? Stains on bottom of vinyl liner

Ok. So I did the Vit C test and it clearly removed the stains on side of liner, which are the same as ones on bottom. I also read the AA guide, so it looks like that's what I'll need to do. Few questions: Do I really need FC down to 0? If so, what's the quickest way to get there? My OCLT...

    Test results - feedback?

yes, sorry. It came in around 7.5. I'm still getting used to telling the difference between the shades of red/yellow/purple. I must hold that test kit up to the light about 20 times before I settle on which one it matches!

    Test results - feedback?

awesome, thanks guys. It's surprising that now that my CYA is down 40% that I don't notice the chlorine smell as much around the pool. Going to do the OCLT test the next few days and monitor it.

    Test results - feedback?

So - first time pool owner. Opened a few weeks ago to clear water but a 110 CYA which would be impossible to maintain. Removed all pucks a week or so ago and will be doing BBB. Replaced about 20" of water this weekend, ad started up the pump this am. After 2 hours of pump time, here are my...
