Nautilus CC - debris going back into pool

Hi - My Nautilus CC works really well. The problem is that every time I pull the vacuum out of the water, a bunch of the debris goes right back into the pool when the water drains out of the vacuum. I've tried turning it upside down when pulling it out and also made sure filters are clean...

    SLAM question

I was thinking all the splashing around would aerate and raise ph?

    SLAM question

Thoroughly cleaned testing vials. Restested with same result. Passed another overnight test and CC is still at 1. Not sure what else to do? Also, it’s a beautiful day here in central IL and the kids want to swim. I’m at SLAM level free chlorine. Pool is open and it’s sunny, so assume it will...

    SLAM question

Thanks all! I’ve successfully passed the overnight test. Water is crystal clear. But CC is 1. It was .5 yesterday. Water has been clear for several days. I’ve vacuumed, brushed, and cleaned filters along the way. Any advice?

    Raise ph before SLAM?

And realize now it should be target of 12. I’ve adjusted.

    I raised it to 30.

    SLAM question

Thank you! I misread the target, so thanks! I did have CYA about 20 at one point so might have ran the wrong number in the calculator. Yes, running pump 24/7, SWG is off, been brushing, vacuumed out large debris, and running robot. It’s amazing what still gets in there over the winter even with...

    SLAM question

I raised the CYA to 30 and started SLAM yesterday. Got FC to 10.5 (target 10) and CC was 3. Tested two more times throughout the day yesterday and FC did not drop and CC did drop down slightly to 2.5 last night. This morning, FC was 7.5 and CC 3. I added chlorine to get to 10 again. Midday FC is...

    Raise ph before SLAM?

It does hold for longer than 30min. Should I increase ph first before starting slam?

    Raise ph before SLAM?

I should add, I’ve done nothing since yesterday where I overshot the muriatic acid and added chlorine to get to 11 (also overshot a little). Pool has been covered.

    Raise ph before SLAM?

Thanks. I wondered I I should add some. I do have the pool covered except for when adding chemicals/checking levels.

    Raise ph before SLAM?

Just checked again. FC at 11 and ph still low. I don’t have borax. Should I get some? And how much should I use? It’s 9pm here tonight so not doing anything until tomorrow anyway. 😊 I do have baking soda, but also unsure how much to use. I’ll obviously check levels again in the morning before...

    Raise ph before SLAM?

CYA is low. May not even be 20, so was targeting 10 target.

    Raise ph before SLAM?

The 110 TA reading was after adding the acid. The reading was taken an hour after adding. Also, for what it’s worth, FC is 3 and CC is 3.5.

    Raise ph before SLAM?

Hello - my pool was opened for the season yesterday. Water was brown and murky. Pool service added shock and it’s no longer brown, but still very murky, and I can mostly see the bottom (couldn’t yesterday). I was going to start the SLAM process and ph reading was high (over 8). I added muriatic...

    Black stains in fiberglass pool.

Yeah, I’ll call them tomorrow. The warranty specifically excludes damage to the gel coat, including blistering, cracking, discoloration, etc. which may mean I’m out of luck. I have no idea what it takes to repair something like this or if it’s something we just love with. One area started last...

    Black stains in fiberglass pool.

I got in and checked. I can’t feel a specific crack, but the texture feels different in those spots when I compare to where there is no staining. It’s definitely stained and does not rub. No wafter loss of note. The house otter used the pool all week, so it was a little low but still well within...

It’s in two different spots. A crack in what? The gel coat or fiberglass?

    Black stains in fiberglass pool.

We just got home after 1.5 weeks. I opened the cover to find these stains in two different spots, close to each other. At least I think they are stains. I thought it was dirt that collected where the textured surface meets the smooth surface, but it did not easy brush off. Water chemistry tested...
