Hot Tub Blower For The Pool

Gotcha - makes sense. Not enough power to blow through the lines and move the water at the other end upwards.

Thanks so much for the answer - was worth the idea for a few minutes :) Why would the blower overheat?

Hot Tub Blower For The Pool

Maybe an odd question since I haven't seen any answers searching TFP or online. The other day we were in our pool and our solar turns on, the amount of bubbles that comes into the pool is always a treat and we all fight for the perfect spot where the water comes out nice and hot. My wife asked...

New to pools and salt - what could go wrong...

And there she is - 100% TFP processed out! This is the blue I remember from a month ago. Crazy how you never thought that it would be so easy - nothing other than muratic acid and salt balancing act. So what's the lesson learned here - don't use anything in the pool that's not chlorine or pure...

New to pools and salt - what could go wrong...

Thanks for the info - I saw a bit of cloud in the water and took them out. Water is getting bluer by the day. Not much iron left in there after 2 days. No need for it anymore. Levels are on point and the WAF is finally above 7 :) added 4 more solar panels today as well. This season will be...

New to pools and salt - what could go wrong...

Thanks - it's been a frustrating process for sure but thanks to all you guys I'm almost there - 90% still have some "particles" I see in the water floating around. But it's nice and green blue - I haven't seen many salt water pools that are true blue blue but look like this. Not sure if it will...

New to pools and salt - what could go wrong...

Thanks - that's good to know. Have the SWG off all day - was pretty sunny today so hopefully it'll knock off a few ppm of FC. Looking now to see if I can map out how long to run the SWG each day per FC / CYA and temperature...

New to pools and salt - what could go wrong...

You guys are amazing - I hope this helps someone else in their journey to the best pool water! Pump ran for 4 hours and mixed everything perfectly. Here are my current numbers as of 10mins ago. I am happy happy happy!! Ph = 7.7 Salt = 2750 FC = 13ppm CC = 0.5ppm CH = 475ppm TA = 90ppm CYA = 75...

Yup - it's on its way - this was quick shipping since the K1766 was ordered late and won't be here until next week. Still better than going to the pool store 🙂

Thanks! That's helpful to know I'm learning :) For the salt I'm using a salinity meter for salt water pools I picked up online with calibration packets. If I lower my Ph to 7.2 and have iron the paper towels (or filters) would turn brown - did I read your statement correctly?

New to pools and salt - what could go wrong...

I know it may not be accurate but the numbers are finally getting where I want them to be Ph = 7.7 Salt = 2980 (will need to add salt) FC = 14ppm CC = 0.5ppm CH = 500ppm TA = 90ppm CYA = 80 Put the pump back on and will run it over night to filter out any junk that came in from the hose...

New to pools and salt - what could go wrong...

Awesome - thank you both. By my calculations I will have reached 2,000 gallons replaced in about 30 mins. Goal was 1,800. Then I'll let the pumps do its thing to cycle the pool - about 3 hours to cycle it once, then test. That a good strategy of attack?

New to pools and salt - what could go wrong...

yes, the water coming out of the submerged pump - not the surface water at the deep end

New to pools and salt - what could go wrong...

i have the hose at the shallow end of the pool and taking water from the submerged pump at the bottom of the deep end. pool pump is off - same gal/min out of the pool and into the pool

After three hours of water exchanging here are the numbers, getting a little bit better so I'll continue exchanging the water. Current estimated water exchanged is about 1100 gallons, about 10% of the water has been exchanged. Ph = 7.7 Salt = 3200 (no change) FC = 16ppm CC = 0.5ppm CH = 525ppm...

Thanks - will drain and fill little by little over the next few days to get it down to semi normal levels. Anything to watch out for since it's a salt system?

Thanks for the reply, are any of these levels causing the green tint in the water? Is that chlorine level too high to swim in?

New to pools and salt - what could go wrong...

Alright - kit came in, thankfully my oldest is a chemistry whiz! My numbers are concerning and no where near what the pool store said. Here we go... Ph = 7.8 Salt = 3200 (a little low) add salt FC = 20.5ppm whoa!!!! Tested twice same result CC = 1ppm CH = 700ppm (tested twice same result) TA =...

Awesome answer - instant vs exponential. Will get some chlorine to have on hand to use once the tester gets here. You guys are awesome!

Thanks great point - never thought about doing that, will get it vacuumed to waste today and clean out the filters as well. Should I set the SWG to Super Chlorinate overnight?

Thanks everyone for their inputs, its really helpful - put in an order for the salinity tester as well. Have the SWG on also. Could an indication of algae be the foaming I'm seeing when the water feature is on or the water is being agitated? They had me put in this clarifier - the entire...

Thank you everyone for the quick responses! A ton of information to process, I couldn't be more thankful!!! I have the TF-100 on the way so I should be good to get all the results back to you guys/gals soon. The 4 bags of salt were recommended by the pool store. based on the SWG, the range is...
