Crack in auto fill bucket - water constantly leaking into pool

@1poolman1 Ok so buy the world's longest lasting valve and then just epoxy that thing into the threads permanently? Haha. What if I want to get to the pipe? What is under the tile next to the bucket?

Crack in auto fill bucket - water constantly leaking into pool

@ajw22 Yes I've tried a ton of thread tape and pipe joint compound. Nothing stops the leak. It's a big enough leak that it will overfill my pool in a few days if I leave the water on. My thought is that I can shape the epoxy to the threads by screwing the valve in and removing it quickly...

Crack in auto fill bucket - water constantly leaking into pool

There is a crack in the threads where the valve screws in. So even if I put a plug, water still flows around it through the threads. How would one go about replacing this threaded plastic piece? I'm guessing it's under a lot of tile and concrete. I was thinking about trying epoxy on the threads...

Do I need this flow gauge?

This gauge has been sitting in the sun for 10 years and the plastic finally cracked and it fell apart. It is a pump that runs a fountain into a swimjet pool. It can also be used to run the swim jets. I'm not sure if it is necessary to have the gauge, so I'm thinking about replacing it with pipe...

    Affordable Spa Light options?

My pool is small and so had a spa light installed. Well it died after only 3 years of use and I'm looking at replacing it. When I started looking at lights, my jaw dropped. Are people really paying $700 for some LEDs in a housing? At that point, I'd rather swim in the dark. Are there any...

Union O-rings - Where to get them?

I have 3 different unions on my plumbing and they all have different O-rings. I'd like to replace a few that are in bad shape. Where can you buy O-rings for unions? I believe they are all 2 inch pipe unions.

Pool empty: can I smooth plaster? Any maintenance to do while empty?

I have a 10 year old small pool that has been drained for 7 months. While it is drained I'd like to see if it's possible to smooth a few rough spots in the plaster. Can I sand it? Do I need to put on some new plaster and fill the rough spots? Just curious how people handle this issue. Is there...

Do I need to eliminate my valve in a leak pressure test?

I'm trying to find a leak in my suction line. But when I listen to my jandy valve I hear water moving. Maybe seeping through the valve? Is my valve bad if it leaks or can I repair it? Do I need to cut the pipe and just test the line in front of the valve? Basically, my valve may be leaking so I...

Pool Drained Overnight: Need advice for repair

@ajw22 You wrote you doubt the pipe is leaking. What is your hypothesis then? I'd like to test it if possible.

Can anybody help me with pressure testing and where to get the correct tools? Thanks.

Pool Drained Overnight: Need advice for repair

Yeah the water drained to the level of the lowest drain. The pumps are connected exactly how the diagram is drawn - one line to each of the 3 pumps. @JamesW Yeah I like the idea of pressure testing it. Then I don't have to fill it and waste 2,700 gallons. I need plugs with a valve and some...

Pool Drained Overnight: Need advice for repair

Ok I did the hose test and confirmed that each hole in the drain is a separate line to each pump. Also, filling the drain with a few inches of water causes no leak. It may need pressure to leak. Which begs the question: why did it all leak out in the first place? I called a leak detection...

Pool Drained Overnight: Need advice for repair

It is absolutely a Swimjet pool. With all 3 pumps capable of pushing water through the 6 jets at the end by switching the diverter valves. I like the garden hose idea. Maybe stick into the pipe at the pump filter housing? So is pressure required to see a leak maybe? Rather than just filling...

Pool Drained Overnight: Need advice for repair

Thanks Allen. Forgive me as I know absolutely nothing about winterizing. I live in the desert. @JamesW Oh so that's how its done. Cool. Do you think that architectural drawing I have may be incorrect then?

Pool Drained Overnight: Need advice for repair

I think I'm capable. Where to find the rubber stoppers? And what is involved in pressure testing? @JamesW It doesn't look like the lines are tied together in that drawing I posted. Where would the pipes run together typically?

Pool Drained Overnight: Need advice for repair

The pump was not on, so I don't think the valve matters. I was thinking that the three drain lines are separate and go to one pump each. I'm basing this on the architectural plans I found in the house when I moved in. Are you thinking that I can just plug the problem line and use the other two...

Pool Drained Overnight: Need advice for repair

Hello everyone. I'm back with a signature and photos. It is a unique pool. Half above ground and half in ground. It has 3 pumps, one for filtration, one for some massaging jets, and one to operate a fountain above the water level that spills into the pool. They are all three plumbed so that they...
