    Salt dilemma

My PB wants to sell me Aqua Salt at 19.75 a bag, he says I need 18 40 lb bags of it. I checked online and it is a top recommended pool salt. Home Depot sells the morton professional pool salt and diamond crystal splash ready pool salt. Both Morton and Diamond are half the price. What do you...

Abalone upgrade by PB is 1500$, is it worth it?

Don't know if we should spend the extra on the abalone shells. We have chosen Irish Mist. Adding glass is going to be super expensive. I'm not sure if 1500$ is worth it. I have read that the bling from the shells fades away over time. We don't want to throw our money away but also want an...

Finalized the decking contract. 2000sq/ft of natural grey concrete with top cast (sanded finish) plus 180 linear feet of 4inch drain for 13.25/sqft. Does this sound reasonable? So Cal.

Dave1096, its a return line. The plumbers didn't know we wanted a step there(wasn't on the blueprints). We will extend and fill before plaster. Funky, I know. But the L shape that my wife came up with rocks!. We love it.

    White/cream waterline tile pics please?

We feel we have found the correct waterline tile. a 6"*12" off-white tile with a little texture to it. It matches the stacked stone for our raised bond beam wall. Wondering if anyone has gone this direction with waterline tile. We feel it will provide the modern look we are trying to...

    Backfill and compaction responsibilities

Is the plumber the one who should backfill and compact the backfill? Or the plumber just does backfill only and decking contractor does the compaction? I’ve been told different things and now confused. What is the industry standard?

PB makes an offer for Heat

I am assuming his logic is dispersing the heat throughout the pool including the bottom. I am not an expert. This is why I am here speaking with all of you smart pool peeps. I will ask him what the logic and science is regarding this topic. Ill report back with his response when I get it.

PB makes an offer for Heat

We are having our pool built. The hole is dug, steel is next. PB asked us to decide if we would like to add the deep heating system( piped heated water to bottom of pool) for 1200$. His selling point was that you could heat up your pool 4 times faster with this system. 6 hours vs. 24...

    The pool dig has begun!!!!

We are very lucky in that our yard is over 60ft in long. We will put a fence to match the vinyl fence in the previous pics to cut the yard in half. The back half has our grass, chicken coup, shed, garden, and also the pool equipment.

We received our pre-construction binder yesterday and they specifically instructed to not fill the pool with soft water. Are you advising that we fill the pool with soft water? yes, our water in Ventura is high in calcium. Is CSI hard to control? We will go with a SWCG, do you recommend a brand?

    Finding a bookmark

When you use your phone, it wants to put websites in a phone type of format, not exactly identical to using a laptop or desktop. I had a laptop next to me when I initially asked the question. I tried finding the bookmark link on the laptop and bingo it was there. When I go to my phone and the...
