    Pool results post heavy rains

Out of balance thanks to the heavy down pours this week. Rains are over now. Have kept solar cover on pool and know FC will go down when I pull back and get some sunlight on the water. Have also bypassed the chlorinator right now too so not adding more. Should I be concerned about the low pH...

    First rebalance test

Well- looks like I way overshot the FC. Have shut off chlorinator and pulled the solar blanket off half the pool to let the sun do it’s thing. Question- should I try to adjust the AL and CY now or wait until the FC is more in line. Didn’t know if addressing in will impact the others. Advice? TIA!

Creative ideas to cover skimmer hole for repair

Currently pulling water out of the pool in order to fix a leak in my skimmer to pump hose connection. As I stand here watching, I figure there’s got to be a better way. What creative ways do you suggest I cover that hole so I don’t have to drain all this water out next time ?

    leaky connection to solar heater

Thanks for the idea. I hadn’t thought of it that way. I can move the location but it would still be more than 6’ from the pump. Guessing 12’. Thoughts on hoses?

    leaky connection to solar heater

Bought SunHeater S120U Universal Solar Pool Heater 2 by 20-Feet last year, used to extend my season BUT I never achieved a leak free connection to 1.5” vacuum hose. Tried flex seal tape, as well as various connectors. Want to start this spring off right with a worry free connection. Pics...

FC still too high to close; freeze warnings next 2 nights. Thoughts?

CYA is 40, FC 23 (down from 29 last Sunday) with freeze warnings the next two nights I am assuming I should run the pump 24/7 while waiting for the FC to come down to 15. Then alegocide for 24 and close. Is this assumption correct? a better/different way to handle?

    Balance before closing

Can someone help me understand the possible consequences of closing with the FC too high? Temp lows will near freezing by end of week? Do I go ahead and put the algecide in while the FC is still in the mid 20s then finish closing? Or, Do I keep the pump running so nothing freezes and wait for...
