Help-fast! Base for Intex Ultra XTR in Iowa

I used a tarp, the Intex cloth that came with the pool and an off brand gorilla pad.

    Solar Blanket

I guess I am weighing the need to have to pump the cover all the time vs getting stuff/debris in the pool . I'm leaning towards putting some holes in the cover. Seems like the lesser of the evils right now.

    Solar Blanket

Hello all! Well, I finally opened my pool yesterday. Haha, yes, a bit late but surprisingly all is well and it's not a swamp. I bought a solar blanket this year that lays on top of the pool, not on the water. Then you stake the sides of the blanket to the ground with ropes. I have never used...

    Summer waves frame intex liner?

Hi there, can you post a picture of your pool and complete your signature line with your pool information? I think this has been asked before regarding an Intex and a Bestway. Most of these vinyl pools are very similar.

    Constant Dirt in Pool

This is what my pool looked like when I opened. It took 7 days of vaccuuming and keeping the chlorine up for it to clear. I manually vacuumed so it didn't go back into my filter. You can clean stairs with bleach.

    Constant Dirt in Pool

I think it's dead algae that is too small for the filter to get completely. This year is my first battle with algae since my cover blew off and I opened late. Mine gets less and less every day that I vacuum and filter, but it's a PITA. I think this slime bag thing is gonna work for the...

Startup and maintenance 1000 gallon Intex

I don't even know what the article says but there is no set amount of time that you have to run the pump. For the past 2 years I have run mine for one to two hours a day but I know other people run it a lot more. I manually skim debris cause I find it therapeutic so that helps. If the water...

Has anyone bought Clorox chlorine tablets?

I saw these online too, but wasn't sure if they were any good. Thank you!

Has anyone bought Clorox chlorine tablets?

Yes, basically last time, I added the amount for the days I was gone and covered it. It was fine when I got back, but figured I would try the puck. This year, I'm just more on edge cause I opened to a green pool and today is day 5 of the slam. It's almost clear and don't want to go back.

Has anyone bought Clorox chlorine tablets?

Well I gave up on this tablet idea. I don't want any extras in the pool, so I returned them. Just gonna do what I did last year, which was add a bunch of liquid chlorine and hope for the best. No issues last time, but I thought I just got lucky.

Has anyone bought Clorox chlorine tablets?

 I thought these ones didn't, but it says xtra-blue. The HTH ones had a bunch of other Crud in it too. Any suggestions for ones that are better? I only used liquid chlorine before.

Has anyone bought Clorox chlorine tablets?

They are definitely 3 inch and the pail wasn't sealed. I think someone took some out. On the one hand, I should return it. On the other hand, I'm scared I won't get a replacement. These were really hard to find on the first place. I probably don't need more than 5, but it kind of pisses me...

Has anyone bought Clorox chlorine tablets?

I have never bought tablets before, but I need some while I'm on vacation. I bought a 5 pound pail of Clorox tablets and there were five 3 inch tablets in there. I don't have a scale or I would weigh it, but I thought there would be more? Anyone know generally how many I should get in 5 pounds?

Legs pulling in on new AGP

This is a round Intex? Is the ground level? I have filled mine twice and the legs don't pull in. They tend to push out as you fill. Can you post pics?

What did you do to your pool today?

Today is day 4 of my slam. It's holding chlorine but the bottom still looks dirty. More vacuuming is in my future. At least it's been on the cooler side, so wouldn't be swimming anyway.

Do we have to start over?!

Whoa that doesn't look good. If they used sand to build it up, it won't work unfortunately. The sand needs to be removed and the actual ground leveled. It sounds like they used a retaining wall to try to keep the sand in place? They are professionals and they should know better in my opinion .

    Intex 18'x52" supports leaning

Is this an Intex? Your signature says something different. If it's an Intex, yes drain! I don't see a picture but 4 inches off level is too much.

It's a bit of work, but you will feel that much more satisfied when you are swimming in your own backyard!

    Leveling for intex pool

Personally, I wouldn't dig just to get rid of roots. You can use a grass killer or something like that before laying the tarp or whatever you are planning on using. Dig till it's level, but it doesn't need to be perfect. I think one inch off level is darn good, but I will let others chime...

    Leveling for intex pool

This will be the third season for this pool and I leave it up all year. I am in IL, so I winterize. Basically, the gorilla pad is to stop weeds and rocks from poking through and it has worked for that. I would only put sand if you wanted it for comfort. It won't level the ground. If you are...

    Leveling for intex pool

I did not use any sand. Just the ground cloth that came with the pool (btw, this is useless. It seems to be disintegrating.) I put a gorilla pad over that, which seems to be holding up really well.

Dark stuff - bottom of pool

I just opened this weekend and I have this too, but a lot more. A bunch of stuff from my cover went in the pool as I was taking it off. My guess is I have algae. I'll be slamming this week.

Setting up for the first time and I'm losing confidence fast :,(

I have an 18 round Intex and if you want perfectly level legs, you will drive yourself nuts. The first time I filled up the pool, I was ocd and checked the legs every hour. But there comes a point, pretty early in the process, where you can't move the legs anyway. The water will push the legs...

    Considering Above-Ground Pool--Any Advice?

I have never had an easy set but form what I heard, the ring easily deflates and water floods everywhere. It's mainly what kept me from buying it but didn't want to spend a fortune either. I've been happy with my Intex and I'm going on my third season. I suspect they last 3 to 6 seasons? So if...

I have an Intex xtr pool warranty question

It sounds like a really good deal. The liner is easy to patch if the damage is small. However, even if you had to buy a new liner, I think you still save money.

    Cutting the cord-anybody else?

Here we have a drive through e-waste service. If you can get it there in your car or truck, they will take it. You just open your doors and the guys take it and throw it in huge bins. It's the first Saturday of the month. The line is long, but these guys have it down to a science.

    Cutting the cord-anybody else?

Every tv in my house is under $300. I never watched much tv until covid . I was never even home that much. I think I've watched more the past 2 years than my whole life. Lucky for me, I have no idea what an expensive tv looks like.
