Trouble signing into the phone app

That worked perfectly! I should've thought of it honestly, but wasn't sure that my "real" pool would be lost. I didn't need to reset my password since I found it on my computer where I use an automatic password program to save them. I am all set now! Have a great day!

Trouble signing into the phone app

Hello Pool Friends! It's spring and we opened our pool today in Michigan! Yay! The problem I am having is that since using the app last fall, I switched from and Android phone to an iPhone. I downloaded the app from the Apple Store but I couldn't remember my password, so I clicked to use my...

To cover or not to cover in Michigan

One other quick question. We have skimmer covers and return plugs, so do i need to lower the water level or just disconnect the lines and do the pump/filter maintenance? We always seem to lose a lot of water, I guess to evaporation, so the less I have to add back the better because we have...

And of course I just posted this very question after searching for the subject. Then all the options showed after I posted mine! Thanks NewDude! You are always so helpful!

To cover or not to cover in Michigan

Hey fellow pool owners! It's been a great summer for our pool using the TFP methods! Haven't had a tinge of anything but bright blue, clear water! Yay! For me, it's been a hard summer because I feel off a ladder picking cherries and smashed my wrist into more than 10 pieces! Had to had a rod...

Return pool lights- anything new in this space?

I have found their website to be good on pricing and really fast on shipping. If you get the return light like I have I think you will really be satisfied! Have a great summer!

Return pool lights- anything new in this space?

We have a 21 x 40 above ground pool. Last year I bought some return lights that were powered by the water coming out of the return. They were pretty cool until they first started squeaking and eventually died about a month in. This year I bit the bullet and bought a really cool light that so...

Thanks for your reply Mdragger88! It was very helpful in clearing up what I need to have and why! Sounds like it would be a great investment! Especially for those times when we are away for a few days. Since I'm here now, I'll ask you this other question. I added Muriatic Acid....AGAIN...

I was wondering about how these threads work. I need a tutorial on that! You all seem to be able to reply to individual sentences, and I can't figure out how that's done. I feel like I'm constantly scrolling and finding new replies to my OP. I'm so confused!:ROFLMAO:

So here is my pool today. Nice and clear and all that yellow gunk is at the bottom where I brushed it yesterday before the weather changed. I have to go out and test the water again yet tonight, but the weather has been absolutely miserable today, as you can see from the picture. Slushy snow...

Hi Mariane! Where are you in Michigan? We are just east of Grand Rapids. We do not lower the water level of the pool. We cover the skimmers and plug the returns. We've never had this happen before where the pump pulls water through the cover....I'm assuming that's what happened.....even...

And how should I deal with the TA? Muriatic Acid, I know, but how much?

I just briefly read the link you posted about the filtering out the iron, but those methods are preventative and would be used prior to filling correct? So at this point I can't remove it so I just wait for the FC to fall and the the iron will "go back into the solution?" I'm not sure what that...

Do you have to have a SWG to do salt? I was reading through the pool school and other articles and saw mention of using softner salt, but can you just add that to the pool? SWG's are costly to get started and that isn't really in the budget right now.

Alright Pool buddies, It's a new day and the temps have dropped and the rain has started. We got everything up and running. Filling the pool back up to level took several hours and turned the water greenish....I don't think it's algae, but rather the result of the quality of our lovely well...

I didn't know it was bad for dogs! Our German Shepherd drinks out of the pool regularly! Another reason to forego the expense.

I used borate only because the pool place that installed our pool said it stabilizes the water using less chlorine, makes it softer and sparkle more. I didn't really know what the scientific purpose was, just what was recommended. It's like 250.00 where I am! So, good......another savings!

I just thought of another question...I have always used borate in the beginning of each season. Is that recommended? Or just simply chlorine everyday?

Hmmm..... good idea to test it with the filter on. I'm slightly skeptical of those things anyway. They aren't that cheap and the way they look after one use I almost feel like they are a one time use and then I should get a new one again. I bought a bit more expensive one last year and it had...

Good to know about running the system for 24 hours first! We are removing the wretched Frog Leap system so off to home depot for some PVC to replace it while we wait for the water to refill. 5ppm of what? FC is liquid Chlorine? Sorry for my ignorance!

We live in West Michigan and we decided to open before the water started warming up. I checked it this morning and after a few 75-80 degree days the temp is 60. The pool held it's water level over the winter which was a relief as we had a small liner cut last year that we repaired just before...
