Just getting started, help is appreciated

I cannot express my gratitude for this answer. Starting something new is stressful. It has a UV filter. Not salt water. We live in Palo Alto, the water is not hard at all (got it tested for water filter, they didn’t even recommend filter) but of course we will see how it will measure once we...

Just getting started, help is appreciated

Hi TFP family, Several years ago I learned so much from this group to maintain my above ground pool. We are getting a Endless Pool swim spa in a month and I know better than going to a pool shop. Is the method and the maintenance same as treating a pool? I need to get the test kit and...

    Please help

Much appreciated. I started adding water while doing the vacuuming. Tomorrow, I will be able to connect the filter and add more water so it is higher than intake level and SLAM. It is unbelievable how much mosquito larvae is in there, vacuuming those nasties right now.

    Please help

Oh, that’s a good news. I have the test kit. Should I do SLAM before I reconnect the filter and then connect and fill the water or do some cleaning/add the filter/fill the rest of the water then SLAM?

    Please help

I did everything perfectly when I winterized my above ground pool and it was crystal clear. Then came a horrible storm, and things went south from there. We were planning to empty it and pack it up but now kids are asking me to set it up as the weather got warmer. Long story short: Is this...

    Closing the above ground pool

Wow! You calmed my heart! :) So 1 time shock is enough to keep it safe even though the chlorine will disappear in time? (Now to think about it, covering will not keep the chlorine either.) Phew. I was so stressed. Good to know, thank you.

    Closing the above ground pool

Dear super helpful people, I read the winterizing guide, just tested all chemicals and added the SHOCK amount of bleach, keep the filter running. I’ll run it 24hr and the I have questions for the next steps; 1- Emptying the pool 6inch under the intakes. Since the water is heavily bleached, would...

Hi all, My BestWay 16x20 pool came with a heating pad https://www.costco.com/bestway-power-steel-22'-x-12'-x-48%22-above-ground-pool-set.product.100601216.html but seems I didn’t really anticipated the sun’s location change with Fall. It doesn’t get any sun right now. With 1000 FlowClear Sand...

    Need help adjusting the numbers.

I am so confused. I tested the water just now. What happened to 16oz MA and 3 cups Chlorine I added? Wasn't the pH should be lowered further after adding the MA? and TA is stayed the same? The results: FC 3 TA 170 CYA 55 pH 7.4 CH 180

    Need help adjusting the numbers.

I always rinse the cup at the end every day, I don’t know what happened and it was my first time with MA. I got pretty scared when my nose burned.

    Need help adjusting the numbers.

Thank you. Just added 16 oz 31.45% MA and opened the pool’s cover and the filter is running. Sorry if it is a stupid question but it bubbled yellow when I poured it into my measuring cup, I guess there was Chlorine residual. I immediately rinsed it in the pool and then added the rest but it...

    Need help adjusting the numbers.

Hi all, As of last night my numbers are; FC 5 (added 3 cups Cholorine to take it to 9) CC 0 pH 7.6 TA 170 CH 160 CYA 55 Pool math says I need to lower my TA and to do it, I need to reduce pH to 7.0-7.2 with acid, then aerate to increase PH. I purchased Muriatic Acid but when I get into the math...

Desperate need in finding an adapter for BestWay above ground pool

Hi all, I purchased an automatic vacuum for my Bestway above ground pool but there is no connection adapter to the inlet. I then purchased BestWay Skimmer hoping I can use the adapter but once inserted, it is almost impossible to remove and I don't want to ruin that either. All I need a simple...
