    Fiberglass Staining?

Well the test results from the store were pretty much right on the money. I added baking soda and calcium to get my TA and CH levels up and retesting myself showed a TA of 80 and a CH of 225. The guy suggested using some citric acid on the steps/area and the brushing about 10 seconds later and...

Couple more photos. @YippeeSkippy no other chemicals used other than liquid bleach, salt, borax, baking soda and muriatic acid.

    Fiberglass Staining?

It is possible some lawn fertilizer got on the stairs/in the pool. I have a company that comes out and treats the lawn during certain months. They are pretty careful but it’s been windy. I can sort of see it on the other steps in the deep end and the walls but it’s really hard to see in certain...

    Fiberglass Staining?

Hi all, Been living a relatively trouble free pool life until yesterday! I do not close my pool for the winter so everything is still running - I typically check pH/FC daily and the other tests in the TF test kit monthly. I recently noticed some discoloration on the steps/edges of my fiberglass...

Honestly at this point I’m not sure. I changed the multiport valve on the old sand filter, the lid and o ring, etc.. to no avail. We did so many changes but weren’t able to do one thing at a time unfortunately. All I know is after running at 1200 for nearly 7 hours there are just a few bubbles...

Let everything settle in over night before turning the pool on. Turned on and......one small leak in the drain cap of the new filter. Took the cap off and used some of the magic lube on o-ring and looks good now. I think I can say at this point things look pretty good. No more air bubbles in...

Ok, lots of fun work lately. Added the hi-temp unions, changed filter to ccp420 (I did not like dealing with that sd80 and wanted a filter to better match flow rate of new pump), added a few inches to the inlet pipe while still having the space requires in the back for the pump. I am not an...

While I’m in the process of cleaning things up, should I cut this coupler out and put a check valve here? The pb put one AFTER the salt cell previously. The bypass was just installed by another pool company, wasn’t sure if the increased flow when I either bypass the heater (or partial bypass...

Thanks Jim and Marty! I'll get to work removing that silicone sealant.

Yep I have those exact ones. How easy is it to remove the old threaded part? I'm guessing I need to get rid of all that silicone or should it just slip off with some force? I'm thinking of re-doing some of the plumbing they did as it's just not....clean. The 3-way they put in coming to the pipe...

@Jimrahbe is there anyway to remove these threads and put on unions? I did ask the pool company for unions (I even ordered ones myself). Unfortunately he installed so fast I missed it. Or maybe put unions after the connection?

I'm wondering how much all of this is worth chasing. At least with the intelliflo I don't need to run 24/7 so I can schedule to run at lower RPMs (for SCG) then bump it up to clear some air, and then back to lower RPMs. Interesting enough though, I set the priming range to 2 (had at 3...

I switched the orientation of the bypass valve to actually be a....bypass (previously restricted flow of the filter and heater not the bypass line) and restricting a little bit of flow to the bypass fixes the noise issue since the backpressure increases. While something I COULD live with, the...

I will do that. Now interesting note, I backwashed at a higher RPM and now i'm not fully hearing that first noise. I still get some gurgling in place. I do wonder if I just don't have enough back pressure at the lower RPMs (though flow is good ~30 or so GPM with bypass). I'm not following...

It was in my hand :) I put it back in. Was trying to figure out where the noise was coming from. I didn't see water rush back out of the pump basket to the pool. I did continually hear that noise as well as some occasional gurgling from the filter. Right now it sounds like the multiport valve...

@Jimrahbe So I shut the pump off and I can hear a weird noise coming from the filter -> Filter Noise with Pump Off I can not for the life of me remembering hearing a noise like that previously. I'm wondering when they first turned on it blew something in the filter?

It's not too bothersome, but it's different sound compared to the SuperFlo (then again I wasn't running that low as I couldn't hit the GPM requirements for the salt cell). I will say, the flow is great though. I'm also thinking I might need to change the pentair 3 way valve that they installed...

    Pentair Ichlor30 and Automation

@Jimrahbe could the noise be from too little back pressure? I did a quick test with the new heater bypass valve and restricted the flow a bit from the filter and the noise seemed to go away or at least was severely reduced. Is there anything else I can do to help this besides restricting flow...

I believe the water level is above basket, air just in the little cavities of the lid. Yes, agree about the PSI - just seemed super low! Yeah the noise is a bit odd - I’m out of troubleshooting steps at the moment. Going to let system run for a bit. at least it’s not the squealing that the...

Thanks Allen! I think I might need to adjust the limit and prime speed up a bit. I also adjusted the priming range from 5 to 3 to see if it would fill all the little cavities in the lid. Running at 2750 I can't seem to get ALL the air out. It does dissipate though. I have the pump limited to...
