    Solar Sun Rings

We use 18 of these in our pool. My main use of these were to keep the heat in overnight. Without them, I was losing 4 degrees. With them on, I only lose 2 degrees. We only use these during the swimming season and we are now on our third season. They are sort of a pain to use but I feel they are...

Pool Rover Plus for IG Pool?

I have the exact same unit bought from Costco last year. It does an excellent job in cleaning the pool. It comes with two different bags. One is o be used for larger objects like leaves and the other bag they say filters the water. Anyways, I use it in a inground pool and am very happy with this...

    Anyone using SOLAR SUN RINGS?

Lately, I have been seeing a 2-3 degree drop at night with the rings on but it depends on the water temperature during the day. When we had a heat spell a couple of weeks ago, I had 84-85 degree water but lost 5-6 degrees over night without the cover. The nights were probably in the upper 50's...

    Anyone using SOLAR SUN RINGS?

I use these but I really do not know how much they actually heat the water as I have solar panels on the roof. I don't think that I could get my pool water warmer than the ambient temperature at the end of a day just using the rings though but I don't really know. Our pool faces west and we get...

    Anyone using SOLAR SUN RINGS?

I use them in a free form pool. They help to keep the heat in overnight but I would have to agree that storage is kind of a pain.

    What's your current pool temp?

With the nice hot days we have been having the last couple of days here in San Diego, we had a blast yesterday in 84 degree water.

    Pool Rover

I use a Pool Rover that I purchased from costco. It is a simple design but does an excellent job on cleaning the pool. Mine came with two bags. One is used for larger debris such as leaves and the other bag filters vacuums very fine particles. Very happy with my unit.

    Intelliflo/legend II problems

I backflushed the filter last night and at 24gpm, I am now running 2100rpm and around 540 watts with 10psi.

    Intelliflo/legend II problems

I assume your talking about the gauge on the filter. The pool is only about couple of months old. I can't really imagine that the suction side has much head loss since it is pretty much a straight run to the equipment pad. The suction side currently has a 2.5" and a 2" pipe coming to it at the...

    Intelliflo/legend II problems

Looking at some pictures, it looks like even less than 50 feet. So truth is I don't really know how much 3/4" pipe is used but I do know that is what is coming out of the 3 returns.

    Intelliflo/legend II problems

I think it may be closer to 50 feet of 3/4" pipe instead of 70 feet if it makes any difference.

    Intelliflo/legend II problems

Those are the correct pipe sizing at the equipment. I have a 2.5" line for the skimmer and a 2" suction line for the cleaner. The return is 2" for the spa return and 2" for the pool. The pool return has roughly 50 feet of 2" line from the equipment converting to a estimated total of 70 feet of...

    Intelliflo/legend II problems

I just checked and at 45gpm without the solar on, my pump is running at 2860 at 1329 watts. The psi on my filter reads 18psi.

    Intelliflo/legend II problems

I don't have any eyeballs. The 3/4" pipe is just cut flush with the pool surface. I just checked my psi. With the solar on, the pump is doing 45gpm at 3130rpm using around 1655 watts. This is with my valve adjusted more toward the cleaner. When I turn the valve to the skimmer only, I read 3165...

    Intelliflo/legend II problems

After reading about how much more efficient other peoples pool are with this pump, I did some researching and saw that the pipe size coming out of the pool of the 3 returns are 3/4". I know the pipe that leaves the equipment area is 2". Since I bought a new robot cleaner, I could have the...

    Intelliflo/legend II problems

There is a dedicated line below the water line. The suction line has one of those spring shut doors on it so when the cleaner is removed, the door closes. I'm sure that it would be something that is easily fixed. Thanks for your advice. Ron

    Intelliflo/legend II problems

I thought about adding a actuator so that when the cleaner comes on, it would shut off the water flow from the skimmer. This would require that the cleaner is always connected. What would happen if we forgot to connect the cleaner and it is time for the cleaner to start. The valve would turn but...

    Intelliflo/legend II problems

I don't see my system being as efficient as yours. At 23GPM, my pump is running closer to 2100 and around 500 watts with a clean DE filter. I think yesterday when I checked, it was closer to 2200 and 600 watts. I am using a suction cleaner with a dedicated 2" pipe and my skimmer has a 2.5" pipe...

    Intelliflo/legend II problems

Richard, have you found a way to have the intellitouch with the intelliflo calculate a new optimized time when you run your features? Currently, I run my filter on a 15 hour cycle. To do 1 turnover, it runs at 23 gph. I also have solar so when that kicks on, it runs at 45 gph. My intelliflo...

I have the smokette 009 model. It is the smallest of the bunch but big enough for me.
