Above Ground Pool Pump tripping GFCI breaker

I have found that if I put a bucket over my electrical post, this helps greatly as they are often triggered by moisture and wetness.

Above ground pool wall has a rust spot high on wall. How should I best repair this?

The spot is right by the steps opposite of the stainless steel for skimmer and return. It was caused by the wratchet for winter cover rubbing. Saw it last summer, but didn't get to it as my dad passed away at the end of the summer. I found fairoaksproducts.com a place that sells stainless...

    Pool return question

I have taken some advice and pointed my return jet straight out across the pool in only a fraction of a downward slant...because the water is going straight out and hitting the wall across the pool it piles and disperses around from both directions. There is still a slight circulation but it is...

Pros and Cons of Sand vs Cartridge Filters???

Brand new filter cart...and brand new pressure gauge and it is running at 16 psi. Pool is cleaning up great. I opened and because of issues with my filter, I did not get started on filling and pumping and filtering for about two weeks. My water turned the color of swamp. Same texture too...

    Buried doughboy wall collapse

I used just loose black dirt for my back fill. You need to remember to make sure that you back fill enough to let the dirt eventually settle so that it still covers the footings, and goes up only about three inches up the side of the pool. My pool builder told me just to back fill and not pack...

Bought new pump gauge from tftestkits.net

Where do I get the nipple and coupling long enough to fit that gauge and did you have to do anything to seat it on top of the filter cover...an o ring or silicone or anything like that?

Bought new pump gauge from tftestkits.net

I don't know what the adapter looks like, but I don't think so because the actual gauge part doesn't fit the size of the recessed hole that the dial/gauge actually fits into. It does not stick out from the top...it recesses into the top cover and is flush with the surface.

Bought new pump gauge from tftestkits.net

Yes...mine doesn't fit either. The gauge doesn't fit into my filter cover. It is too big around. Can we send these back. I bought two of them. It doesn't fit into the recessed hole on the top of my swim pro voyager filter. The actual gauge or dial doesn't recess in and thus I know have a...

TA readings using TF100 "totally disagrees" from Pool supply store

Re: TA readings using TF100 "totally disagrees" from Pool supply store I always advise those who use TF 100's for those pools...I have two neighbors who do... to always go by your test kits and trust yourself and your results...I took my water to the pool store one spring after I...

    Buried doughboy wall collapse

Fill the pool at least 3/4 of the way. According to my pool installer never let the pool go below 3 or 4 inches below the skimmer. Much less than that then you run the risk of walls collapsing. My pool is winterized each year and when I drain it, I drain it to about 2 inches below the...

How much did you pay for electrical & bonding?

I had to have a new panel put in because I needed actual switches, not just screw in fuses...so it cost me twice as much. Had I already had the panel it would have been about $750...trenched about 30 feet, but ran conduit under my deck on the back of the house, and then ran to the trench. Plus...

Pros and Cons of Sand vs Cartridge Filters???

Haven't used one in years. Been broken...I know my pool, but had always cleaned it when it got to about 25 psi as the recommendation from pool guy who installed pool...over the past few years it's been once a month as that is what the gauge always told me. I just bought two from TFP...I am...

Pros and Cons of Sand vs Cartridge Filters???

Seems to be seated properly...However, maybe I need to clean it more frequently...I clean maybe three times a summer. But maybe that needs to happen more than maybe once per month...like once every couple of weeks?

Pros and Cons of Sand vs Cartridge Filters???

Yes...air is bled...and pump re-pressurized after cleaning. But I have always circulated in a circular fashion usually not at the surface but just below or at a 45 degree angle. So what you are saying is to leave the directional eye in and point it downward and outward instead of keeping a...

My Trouble Free Pool - Copper Sulfate

And Copper Sulfate is the stuff they put in sewer main lines to kill tree roots. Not sure, I'd put it in my pool at any concentration. Just saying.

Pros and Cons of Sand vs Cartridge Filters???

My filter has one cartridge...it sits on the center. water comes in at the bottom left from the pump...and out on the bottom left back to the pool. I believe it is a Hayward 175. I have a neighbor who used to have a beautiful yard full of flowering trees, and flowers...now it is just weeds...

Pros and Cons of Sand vs Cartridge Filters???

So why can't I keep the pollen off the bottom of my pool??? I clean the filter when I put it in...I clean it two or three times per summer. I don't know why I can't keep the bottom clean. I vacuum it up...Clogs up a skimmer sock...and then two hours later...all over the bottom of the pool...

Pros and Cons of Sand vs Cartridge Filters???

Poolzzz do you think the 2 hp pump is too strong...I don't see anyone using a 2 hp ever on these boards. Should I step down to a two speed. Could the water be damaging the filter pleats because it is coming through too fast...creating too much force. The pump outlet goes right into the filter...

Pros and Cons of Sand vs Cartridge Filters???

Sometimes I can see it blowing back through the return...as I vacuum. especially when I have large amounts of it after a cold snap and no one has vacuumed or swam. Also a question, I have a two hp pump...is that too much pump for a cartridge filter...does it pull too much water through too...

Pros and Cons of Sand vs Cartridge Filters???

Guys...I am a pool chemistry enthusiast. I have been using BBB since 2008. I know how to keep my water clean. That isn't the issue. This is pollen on the bottom of my pool and it drives me crazy. It is because I am so on top of my chemistry that I have issues with this stuff floating on...

Pros and Cons of Sand vs Cartridge Filters???

I currently have a cartridge filter...After 8 years maybe 9...I'm not a fan. I am thinking about switching out to a sand filter. Why do those of you who have sand filters choose sand over cartridge filters? What if any drawbacks are there. The biggest draw back I see is that my cartridge...
