    How to: vacuum AG pool?

What is the procedure for AG vacuuming regarding valves and pump settings. Is it okay to place the hose directly into the skimmer basket housing without an adapter? Do you need to backwash afterward, how is that done? Thanks!!!

    Pool pump

I like the idea of energy efficient but they are a bit expensive....(in the short term I suppose). And Hayward? Can get it delivered by Friday. Are there any other considerations I need to think of regarding the filter unit?

    Landscaping around pool

We installed our AGP last year and didn't landscape around the base. Currently grass and weeds are nicely filling in but I am concerned about having this stuff grow under the pool. I also noticed folks seem to have some sort of rock or bark fill around the edges which deters plant growth. Thanks.

    Am I there yet?

Here we go TA= 80ppm CH= 60 ppm pH = 7.4 CYA= ~30 or a little lower CC = 0 FC = 3.5 I'm still working on getting the CYA up there (to 40). I read in pool school with a vinyl liner in an AG pool I don't need to worry about CH is that true? My SI is .9 which appears to be high. One other...

    Cyanuric test

Thanks. Also when I add the DPD powder it takes quite awhile to dissolve, if it's not completely dissolved will that influence the results of the chlorine test?

    Cyanuric test

So I finally got a K-2006 kit and I was wondering how to interpret the CYA test. Should the black dot entirely disappear :?: Thanks.

    Closing

Thanks. So I sense you would recommend the 6 inches? The pool cover mentions not to go lower than 6 inches from the top of the pool. I'm concerned with the weight of the snow, sometimes it's light and fluffy but those spring storms bring that heavy wet snow. I sense this cover will never last...

    Closing

I live in upstate NY, plus we are located at a high elevation, so we get LOTS of snow and very cold winters. I am concerned that if we lower too much the weight of the snow will pull the cover off. So what is the reasoning behind lowering the level? I understand if you keep your pump and filter...

    Closing

I'm in the midst of lowering the pool level (6 inches below return) in our above ground pool and it's killing me to watch all the water drain out. We plan on removing the pump and filter unit to store indoors. Is there any reason I have to lower the level that much? Thanks! This is the our first...

    Newbie, aspiring BBB

Newbie here, and I don't want to mess up the water! I am an aspiring BBB so tell me how I'm doing. FC - .2 CC - .6 pH - 7.6 TA - 75 CH - 150 CYA - 30 The pool store suggests 5 lbs of AlkPlus, but as I recall this is not necessary for vinyl pools. Also shock was suggested so I plan on boosting...
