Yellow-Brown Stain in the Deep End

Hello. I have been following the trouble free pool method since 2013 with success! Well, after adding a few 40 pound bags of salt, I have my first mystery. After the salt dissolved, I noticed a yellow-brown stain in the exact spot where the salt was dumped. I have tried brushing the stain...

    How to clean water line

This is my first full season with our vinyl liner pool. I have noticed a scum line on the liner at the water line. I started using a magic eraser and the pool liner print started to rub off (I was pushing too hard). What are a few other ways to maintain the water line? Also, what is the best...

    Vinyl liner movement

While swimming this evening my son said the liner was slipping (i.e., moving) under his feet. Is this normal? Putting on googles, I verified that the liner could be moved on the slope leading to the deep end. Note that my water temperature was 86 degrees. I thought it would be next to...

    How many Gallons of Water?

I'm attempting to calculate how many gallons of water are in my pool. I understand the basic formula, but my pool is a bit different (enlarged diving area). I have calculated the number of gallons, but my number does not agree with the pool calculator when adding CYA. I hope the following...

    PH Slowly Increasing

FC = 4 CC = 0 PH 7.8 - 8.2 Why does the PH keep rising? What do I do to lower the PH? The PH has been slowly rising for the past few weeks since opening. My pool is crystal clear. Thoughts? 20 x 44.5 single roman end, ~33,000 gallons, 10 feet deep, garrett vinyl liner, Hayward SwimClear...

    First Opening...Help!

Hello. We just opened our pool yesterday. Everything looked great. I vacuumed out some dirt that fell through the center of our solid winter cover and set the SWG to Super-Chlor. Early this morning I sampled using the TF-100 (note I could smell chlorine while walking around the pool). As of...

    Circupool RJ or SI

We just signed a contract to install our new pool. Our PB put the RJ 45 model on the contract, but later said there was an improved model (SI). When I reviewed Circupool's site it appeared the SI had a shorter warranty than the RJ model. Can anyone explain the differences? Thank you.

    Need help picking a liner

We are preparing to build a 20x40 mountain pond or double roman (still deciding). We have narrowed down the liner choices to three. Our favorite is the Hampton Tile Laguna (Garrett Liners). http://www.garrettliners.com/pages/liner-patterns.php Does anyone have a similar liner? If so, would...

Recommendation for gunite pool installer near Romney, WV

We want a gunite pool, but cannot find an installer in our area. It seems all our local pool installers want to install vinyl or fiberglass. Any recommendations are appreciated. I have found one installer in Roanoke, VA (National Pools of Roanoke), but the (4-hour) distance may be a factor...
