Pool Opening Process Has Plateaued. Help!

OK, so I got my sand filter open. The sand level does appear a bit low: I would say it appears about half-way up the filter. What does everyone think? Is the sand level too low?

Pool Opening Process Has Plateaued. Help!

How would I know the correct level of sand in the filter? Is there a line inside the filter that it should be filled to? The only thing I see about amount of sand is the lb. It says 150 lbs but if I just need to add more, I am not sure how much.

Pool Opening Process Has Plateaued. Help!

No. I have never opened up the filter to access the sand. Sounds like it’s about time though! If I'm doing all that, I’ll probably just go ahead and replace the sand. Although I am not sure why the PSI would still be so normal as it is now if the sand were very clogged up. Perhaps something...

Pool Opening Process Has Plateaued. Help!

OK guys, since I got the new reagents and I’ve been testing, I am following the SLAM process but not much as changed in the past two days. Pictures of the water as of tonight: Something that is interesting to me is that my filter pressure hasn’t changed since I’ve started this process. It’s...

Pool Opening Process Has Plateaued. Help!

So, I figured out that my reagents that came with my TF-100 Pro kit are about 5 years old now. Needless to say, they are probably expired, and the results haven't been accurate. I just received my new reagents in the mail today. I retested FC and got 2.5 along with 2 CC. CYA was zero (the...

Pool Opening Process Has Plateaued. Help!

Hi everyone, On my 5th year of getting my pool up and running. Previous 4 years have gone off without any issues... However, this year is giving me a lot of trouble. I started getting my pool ready about a week ago by getting all the leaves out, (didn't use a cover over the winter) and...

I Think My SWG Died. What Do You All Think?

Do you all think I can get by at least through this weekend if I SLAM the pool and put some trichlor pucks in the skimmer basket?

    Bad Salt Cell

Hey Kim, I have the same SWG. My actually just reached the end of it's life today as well and I posted here about it. I had over 12,000 hours on mine, and someone quoted my post about it and said they were rated for 10,000 hours. Have you checked diagnostic mode to see how many hours yours...

I Think My SWG Died. What Do You All Think?

Hi all, I have an iChlor 15 SWG that is about 5 years old. My wife and I came back after being gone a few days and there was an algae infestation in our pool. I checked the display of the SWG and said "CELL" and the cell LED was flashing green. Now I know by reading the manual that it could...

    Add more Insulation or no?

I posted about this same topic on another forum I am part of. Glad to know I am not the only one! One thing they mentioned is having your air ducts tested for leaks. My power company offers rebates if leaks are detected then sealed a certain amount. You did mention your unit is only 10...

Repairing Leak in Plumbing - What Am I Doing Wrong?

@setsailsoon Here is a video of the leak: Leak Video I put another thick bead of Silicone on this morning and the leak is still there. Right now, the pump is priming fine and everything else seems good to go. However, I would like to get rid of this leak eventually.

Repairing Leak in Plumbing - What Am I Doing Wrong?

OK I think I figured it out. For whatever reason, I couldn't get the PTFE paste to work for me. I went back to several wraps of Teflon tape with a bead of silicone at the top. It's working fine now, except for a small drip. I guess I will just lay some more silicone over the one leaking...

Repairing Leak in Plumbing - What Am I Doing Wrong?

OK guys, still having issues. There is no longer a leak at the union after I put a new one on. However, this threaded connection is going to be the death of me. Now it's leaking more than when I used just Teflon tape. Here are some pics of what it looks like: Not sure what else I...

Repairing Leak in Plumbing - What Am I Doing Wrong?

Thank you very much, @duraleigh. I will swing by Lowe's and pick that up today. One question though, would this work as the "pipe dope"? https://www.lowes.com/pd/Oatey-Great-White-Sealant/4750813 I see others posting about TFE and this is PTFE. Not sure that there is a difference, but I...
