Help required with my pool results (New pool owner)

What Herman said, pool stores poke your eyes. Order a proper test kit so you can test yourself. A Taylor K-2006C from Amazon will suffice. In the mean time put chlorine 1 gallon daily, to slow down the algae until you get that kit. Test everything so you have a base to start with. Up your CYA...

    Small particles floating my pool

If it's not a chlorine issue, use some D.E. to help filter the small particles. A few rounds should clear up all the fine stuff.

Idea for Dissolving CYA Granules– And Nothing in the Skimmer

I used the sock method. Grabbed a pair of crew socks filled them with 2 lbs each. Tied them off, tied a rope to the sock and a kettle bell. I put them in front of the return jets and pulled them up over a few hours as it dissolved. I would take it out and give the sock a few smashes with kettle...

    SLAM processs adding liquid clorine

Yes, backwashing is important. It took me 11 days of slamming to go from nasty green with tons of leaves, algae, and debri sitting on my pool floor, to purty!! My pool was inactive for 9-10 months, so follow the advice and you'll get there. Backwash, scrub, vacuum, and keep that FC up!

    Embedded algae

No. I didn't empty the pool. I used the pressure washer with the pool filled. I got in the pool and used it. I have an extra long hose and it's not like the gun or anything will be damaged it's meant for water. I've actually done this method 2 or 3 times and have had no issues. Saved me alot of...

    Embedded algae

Maybe not the correct or best advice but worked for me as a last resort, when I had a hard time with black algae. I used a pressure washer. It got everything off the walls and floors. I used the large floor attachment for the floors and a wide spread attachment for the walls. If you do this...

    Should I continue the SLAM

Yeah I'm on Day 10 I live in Kingsville, TX so I have city water. It's clearing up now, strictly using liquid chlorine. My CYA is below 10 and with my frequent vacuuming and backwashing I'm hesitant to put stabilizer to get the CYA up. I have very little debri left as now I can finally see...

    Should I continue the SLAM

Started slamming 5 days ago after the pool being inactive for 9 months due to the pump motor burning out. Anyway, my OCLT was a loss of 1 ppm and my CC is at .4 (Using K-2006C), however my pool is still a bluish green and I know the dead algae still needs to be filtered out. Should I continue...
