    Pool/Spa lights tripping C/B

If possible find the Junction where the Pool and Spa lights connect to the cable coming from the circuit Breaker and disconnect all but one light. Turn lights on and if it stays on then switch off and add another light to the circuit until it trips.

Need advice on the next steps to balance my pool's chemistry

No need to remove while adding chemicals to the pool. Don't remove the cleaner from the pool with it still connected even if the booster pump is off. Some waer can still flow through the cleaner while the filter pump is running. Also if you forget to put it back into the pool and the booster...

How to fix return pulling away from pipe

Hi HeatherH I had the same issue with my pool returns. I had to cut up my pool deck, dig down to the pipes and fit new returns. I filled in the hole with material to reduce the settling. Multiple attempts to seal the gaps from poolside failed.

The black tube is to help remove built up air bubbles inside the cell housing. This is my understanding anyway. It sits about 3/4 up into the Cell.

Pool care comments that have made you chuckles

A work colleague of mine moved into a house recently with an AG pool. He was told by the pool shop that used to look after the pool to use a floater or powder Chlorine only as Liquid Chlorine will rust the frame.

Two Q's re: correct sealant use when replacing FG pool skimmer faceplate

Hey Chuck I replaced my Skimmer Escutcheon not long after I bought my place as it was cracked and not flush against the Fiberglass wall. I didn't us the supplied gasket/seal but instead used the following product...

    Salt Staining

Yes there is a pool salt shortage here in Sydney as well especially for the good quality salt. My salt levels fell below what my Chlorinator liked and so I used Liquid Chlorine until I could pick up some decent salt bags. Plenty of LC around. When will this rain stop?

    Recommendations SWG in Australia

+1 on the Astral V series, I wouldn't have a system that uses probes if it's a Rental. The probes can play up and cause too much or too little FC if not serviced and Calibrated regularly. Keep your choice of chlorinator simple. A chlorinator that has LED Lights that indicate the power output...

    Waterco vs Astral Pool Filter

Do you have a particular type in mind? sand, cartridge or DE? I have a Hayward cartridge my Dad has a Waterco Sand and my Brother has a Astral Sand. I'd be happy with any one but I would pick a Cartidge over a sand for my setup and location under trees. To me it's a decision on how fine you...

Turned on the Heat Pump, checked some Chems, dropped in the bot to clean up the earthworms and then went for a swim with the kids in never ending rain showers.

Long time, no post… help needed!

Riley Had a heap of rain down here over the last couple of weeks as well but not as bad as Qld. Hope all is good there! My pool also filled with mud and rain water. I found running the bot in the morning or after a period of no flow picked up athe heavy sediment off the floor best and then with...

Does our pool/spa return plumbing make sense?

CA The life of a cell is reduced by the time it is on and producing FC not from the flow past the cell. Bad chemistry can also be a reason for a reduced life due to calcium build-up and using acid to clean it.

Green Yes I have the Puresilk version. The PL series is the newer type that has the test asymbley mounted to the pipe. The cells are the same for both models. Mine has a max FC setpoint of 5ppm and Max pH of 8.4? I run mine at 5ppm (I don't use the pH control much as my pools pH is stable) I...

How to clean the pump strainer basket

Hard to tell from the picture of your pump pad but A,B and C might be the suction and discharge ports for your roof solar system. Two ports for suction and one for the return of the heated water. That's how mine is setup.

How to clean the pump strainer basket

also to reduce the amount of debris getting into your pump suction basket you can use Skimmer socks. Put the skimmer sock in you pool skimmer basket to capture the fine stuff that normally gets past the skimmer basket . You can pick them up from your local Bunnings. No need to go to the Pool...

How to clean the pump strainer basket

Hi Aung As Texas said you can switch off the power at the GPO to stop the pump from starting while cleaning the strainer.
