TF Test Kits R-0871 for 2025

Knew this about the R-0009 but never realized it was common for other reagents as well. Thanks! --Jeff

TF Test Kits R-0871 for 2025

I purchased the reagent refills earlier this year when they were on sale. I also have a friend who just purchased a TFPro Salt for his almost completed pool. I gave him a bottle of my pool water to play around with testing with, so he could see if he was getting the same thing I was to confirm...

You have to spend more time tending to your fleet. While they keep you from messing with the pool, they still take time away from being totally lazy. --Jeff

Featured High FC demand and #TeamRunHot.

I am #teamrunhot simply due to the fact that I am also #teamnoSLAM. I do not want the hassle of having to SLAM and so for me it makes sense to just stay at or above the high target of the FC range. I have set up so that I can be the laziest pool owner ever and so far that is working out well...

Dolphin s300 NOT trouble free! HELP

My active 30 was doing this same thing. I pulled it out and set it on a couple of 2x4 blocks and ran through the start sequence. It was then that I realized that the tracks were coming off the wheels and causing binding. I know you have replaced most everything, if not everything but have you...

Tips on how to clean intelliPH acid injection fitting ?

No clue, never taken it apart. I think I'd probably try and get something to hook the filter and see if I couldn't get it pulled up through one of the openings, before trying to disassemble the tank. Seeing that it is pumping without the injectors, I think the filter is probably fine, was just...

Tips on how to clean intelliPH acid injection fitting ?

Clearly something is happening when the injector fittings are installed. You have the ferrules in the correct orientation when you tighten down the nuts on the injector fittings? You are not over inserting the tubing into the injector fittings when you insert it? I don't know if that is a...

Tips on how to clean intelliPH acid injection fitting ?

As you mentioned, things aren't adding up so I'm a bit at a loss. Is the inlet screen/filter in the tank clear? Is that inlet hose in the tank in good shape? --Jeff

What did you do to your pool today?

Oddly enough, mine is also on my pool pad, because the pad was added much later. I didn't want the pad to encompass it but didn't have much choice. Or I was ignorant in my planning and instead of putting the equipment out in the yard and building a shed around it, I let the PB put it right up...

What did you do to your pool today?

Yup and if I were on a sewer and not septic, I would have one installed. I believe they are code now for my area. I don't want my own sewage backing up in my house, let alone the entire neighborhood and potentially the rest of the city. Pretty sure Mike Rowe did a dirty jobs where they had...

    Pool rail woes

What did the hardware look like, or do you have the specs on it? McMaster Carr (www.mcmaster.com) has a tremendous selection of hardware and who I will usually use to get hard to find hardware. You can filter by material, thread size, diameter, length, and pretty much any other characteristic...

    Has anyone bought salt lately

The splash ready is finer granules so they dissolve a bit faster. I have used both and it is like 3-5 minutes of brushing for the splash ready and 5-8 minutes of brushing for the solar naturals. I may be slightly off on my time but the difference is negligible in my opinion. I buy whichever...

What did you do to your pool today?

Checked chems this morning. Added enough CYA to bring me up to 80. Jumped in to cool off after push mowing the pool yard and again after mowing the outer yard with the tractor. Need air temps to come up just a bit for it to be comfortable to be swimming but it felt good to cool off and rinse...

I have nothing to add that is of benefit to this conversation but I would like to say these discussions are why I follow TFP. The Stenner injector should be rebuildable. I have not done it yet so I can't confirm, but I would attempt to open it up and see if the duckbill is stuck. --Jeff

Tips on how to clean intelliPH acid injection fitting ?

The pump may seem like it is pumping ok if you aren't trying to push through the check valve. With the additional backpressure of the check valve, it could cause a reduced flow. --Jeff

Tips on how to clean intelliPH acid injection fitting ?

If you have not yet changed the pump tube, 2 years is definitely time. The pump tube will become hardened and less flexible and remains flattened out so that it essentially does not pump any longer. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P0KM47M?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2 These are...

Attach pergola to patio -- worried about gas lines under patio

How much of that 6.5" bolt must be embedded in concrete? Is that 6.5" of embedded length or like 4" embedded with a 2.5" protrusion. If it is 6.5" embedded, you may be looking at cutting out sections of the decking and pouring a deeper base. The anchor gets its holding strength from being...

Intellicenter does not recognize heater is idle

I haven't noticed it prematurely. Pretty sure once the IC stops the call for heat the heater will shut down. But if the heater reaches that temp prior to the IC, it will also shut down. but the IC still calling for heat will keep the pump at the heater speed. --Jeff

First look at Pentair's new IntelliChlor Plus30

This does not seem like their usual MO on the IntelliChlor units. From what I typically see here is people call in with an issue, they walk them through troubleshooting steps, and determine it is a bad part (traditionally a flow switch because that was basically all their was on the old units)...

Intellicenter does not recognize heater is idle

I had this issue and I made the Intellicenter temp 1 degree higher than the heater temp. The lag difference in the two readings is likely why it took a while to shut down. I agree with your operational narrative, but unfortunately that is not how Pentair programmed it to operate. Call Pentair...
